SDMB--CAN YOU NAME THAT TUNE IN 17 SECONDS? "Ulterior Motives" MYSTERY SONG

“Ulterior Motives” {not it’s real name} is a catchy New Wave 80s song, or part of one, that was found on an old drive by a guy who recorded it off the radio.
And nobody can find the rest of the song, nor name the artist. In fact “Ulterior Motives” may not be the real name.
BUT THE FOLLOWERS OF UNCA CECIL ARE {almost} ALL-KNOWING!
Can you uncover this catchy mystery tune’s secrets?

I will say, I was there for the 80s alternative, and I’ve never heard that in my life.

I’m voting for parallel universe contamination.

Here’s a pretty good discussion

Oh
That’s “Everyone Knows”
by Bing bang bong

A shortlived Swedish girl pop band. One appearance on the Winter Olympics opening show and a short burst of fame. A couple appearances on British pop music shows.
The bands founder Reyha (one named wonder) was killed in a mysterious car accident. The rest of the band couldn’t go on with out her vocals.

I made all that up, yes I did

Giving this a bump because the mystery was solved… and it’s rather amusing!!

Ulterior Motives

Considering the fact this song was written for a porno it’s quite good.

Ahh, Lostwave.

I wonder if The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet will ever be identified?

This story reminds me of the test image Lenna. I remember a professor providing us the image when I took a course in digital image processing (around 1989). We had no idea the photo was from a Playboy shoot.

Another good one is Celebrity Number Six. Someone had a shower curtain with images from six different people. Five were famous and one a model who no one could identify. Many years later the person and source of the image were found.

Well, damn. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
