I too would like to hear from Germany in this regard… but would note that France has as many armies as I do, in spite of having started with one fewer.
With 26 hours to go, I have only received provisional orders from Italy and Austria.
I hope that will change by tomorrow night.
Well, it would appear I have made a bed I must sleep in. I am not happy with the position I’m in, and am unsure if England is still my ally, or if I now face the combined might of Germany and England.
What say you, King and Kaiser?
I am, at the very worst, a non-belligerent towards you, Tristan-make of that what you will. I won’t be surrendering the North Sea to anyone if I can help it (the only way Belgium and points west would be vulnerable). I wish it didn’t have to come to this to be honest.
It seems that none of us are happy with the state of things. I’m not sure what to make of that situation, but I’m at a loss to see how it’s rectified. France and I are at odds and I simply cannot change that fact looking at the geography and units on the board.
I have no serious issue with England so long as he’s not actively helping France against me and I’m not inclined to start pressing him unless Russia says or does something one way or another. Fact of the matter is, I’m simply going to have to dig in and wait. Whoever comes calling with the best offer will get my aid and cooperation. Luckily I am strong enough in my position to allow this. France is as well. Russia and England are in a bit more precarious of a position. One of them will have to decide this turn by acting. My fleet in Kiel will be dependent on what happens there.
France, give me an out and we can end this silly stand off, but you have to give me something. If France won’t, I’m willing to help England into France at any time. Talk to me.

**Deadline for Moves for Autumn 1903 is Tuesday 4th August at 20:00 GMT **
So, anyone want to be friends?
Italy- You see now that you aren’t getting a build. There’s no way for you to get rid of my army in your heartland. It’s over for you (and me) unless we work together.
Russia- You’re about to get Fed in the A up North. I can help you in the South. Right now you are in no position to displace either me or Turkey.
France- You want Venice?
Turkey- Russia’s about to get boned and we could easily take territory from him.
Germany- I don’t know wtf you are doing but maybe we can work together?
You have 2 friends now in me and Germany, treis. Russia just screwed himself in the north and we both stand to get builds at Russia’s expense. The Juggernaut now stands dead in the water-Turkey swapped centers but lost a crucial front-line unit, tho they may get Serbia too.
Okay, Omniscient, where do we go from here? [I won’t begrudge you the North Sea bounce-you were clearly making sure I wasn’t going to hose you and I respect that] I can’t believe Russia moved Moscow, his insurance policy, away from St. Pete. So we both have mortal locks on builds; question is where do we go from here next year? As part of the division of spoils, long term, I think me with Sweden & St. Pete & you with Moscow and Warsaw makes sense, tho you’ll need some time to get some armies over there.
Tristan, I regret that you are stalemated in the west (tho admittedly with a chance to gain some position on Germany this turn). I’ll be busy for a few years in Russia, but I’ll keep in touch.
Italy and Austria:
You guys are obviously still at loggerheads: despite Turkey’s lost center he may still come out of this with +1 net builds. I’d suggest that you patch up your differences, or you’ll both pay the price (Italy is getting diddly-squat out of his “alliance” with the Juggernaut). A possible convoy to Smyrna/Syria next year, with Austria moving to take Naples this fall to maintain the convoy threat, Italy moving to EME, might be something to consider. At least cooperate in attacking Greece this turn if nothing else.
Italy, Austria: The so-called Juggernaut has gained me nothing except serve perfidious Albion and his friends as a casus belli, and Russia was too busy protecting himself from I don’t know what to do anything helpful to me. I see no future in maintaining this alliance with that menacing development in the West. May I suggest you two patch up your differences and Austria leaves me Greece for now. Guard your backs and, Archduke, I’m more than willing to divide the spoils with you.
To all,
Due to circumstances, **grimpixie **will be taking over the role of Tsar of Russia permanently from wevets.
Regards,
CIAS.
You’ve got a point. If you’ll order your forces to leave Rome, I will support you in Greece. Following that I will stave off France in the west but leave a fleet in the east to support your operations there.
Do you really want Italy involved? The way I see it is that you build fleets and expand in the mediterranian, while I build armies and expand into Russia. If Italy is in the alliance, where are you planning on expanding except through my territory?
I’m fine with you having Greece, Rome, Naples, and Tunis while I get Rumania, Sev, Ven, and whatever else I can take from Russia. We will have a mutually defensible border and plenty of room to expand.
Look, I didn’t pick up one of your territories for free. At worst it will cost me Serbia, and at best it cost me a lot of manuever time. I simply can’t afford to just give up a build while I am at risk of losing another. It was your mistake that got us into this situation, and its your delaying that is making it worse. Facts on the ground are deteriating to a point where an alliance between us is useless. Turkey is getting another fleet next turn, and once that happens any chance for progress is lost.
An equitable division of spoils, and I much prefer Sevastopol in Austrian hands rather than Russian. Well, then, I can only tell Il Duce that had matters fallen out differently with that lost despatch, our association would have been much more fruitful. But with a possible Western Triple going on, it’s necessary to play the map as it lies. Archduke, I’ll study the map and get back to you.
If you aren’t willing to make a show of faith, I’ll simply make every effort to thwart whatever you wish to do until I am eliminated. By that time, Turkey and/or France will be slavering over your cities. If I am going to be squeezed out, I will take someone with me.
Good luck with that.
Germany- As a show of good faith, would you be interested in supporting me into Ven? Or perhaps the Austrian would be so good as to give up the position? My initial plans for Pie are no longer valid, so… yeah. And I rather desperately need a build this next go around to keep myself afloat.
Austria- Unless, that is, you are capable of supporting me into Ven?
Italy- My dearest and most stalwart friend, I am sorry things must come to this, but I’m afraid if the glory of Romantic culture is to survive, it must perforce be me that does it. I’m sure you understand. If it’s any consolation, our cuisines combined make for LOVELY cafe’s and bistro’s!
