SDMB Diplomacy

I’m not moving into Pie. There’s no benefit for me in doing so and I never agreed that I would.

Do I foresee war? I don’t know, you have seemed rather belligerent as of late so it is difficult for me to rule it out. However, I will not be the one who casts the first stone. I will say that reining in your ally from direct confrontation with me will be immensly helpful for our relationship.

Austria- if you wish to proceed against Germany due to this beligerence, i would be more than happy to help in any way possible (until England crushes me, which is coming soon).

Germany- Are you really surprised that England is cutting you out of a deal? You shouldn’t be.

French Citizens resume sewing white flags and practicing English

::checks date::

Yup, it’s going to be a quiet move. Only two sets received (Austria and France)

Well, it makes my life easier I guess.

Okay then, I am going to hold you to this.

RUSSIA IN TROUBLE. STOP.

Malacandra- Sorry, you gotta give me some signal that you agree with what I propose. I had no idea what you were planning on doing. :frowning:

Omni, I am assuming you FUBARed the move to Holland-it’s no biggie, as I can use the temporarily extra fleet to hunt down France’s fleet, and if I get Brest next year I’ll get to keep it.

grimpixie, I decided to smooth things over with the power who will be around past next year. If your position was more tenable I’d certainly try to prop you up, but it’s not. Sorry.

treis, I rubbed your back; could I get Moscow as part of the spoils? You need to decide if you are with Turkey, or against him (don’t have to tell me necessarily, just that you are about to run out of enemies otherwise).

Malacandra, you have pretty much refused to throw me any sort of bone: I don’t know if you are on France’s side, or against him. We can make a deal if you wish, or keep pointlessly butting heads in a suboptimal manner, but I personally only see you getting Marseilles (I’m sure Germany will agree) as part of the spoils considering your gains vs. Italy. It is highly unlikely, now that I am getting an extra fleet, that you’ll ever break out into the Atlantic (and even if I wasn’t that still would be true).

Ha! You’re lucky I’m letting you keep StP.

Sorry. Diplomacy time has been limited these last few days, I can’t scan the map at work and I had to deal with a blue-screen problem on my home PC and my laptop power supply has shorted. :smack:

I’m sure it’ll all work out.

I you need anything sent to you by email, let me know.

Retreats done and it’s time for Winter.

France: Fleet Liverpool -> Irish Sea
Russia: Army Sevastopol -> Armenia
Russia: Army Warsaw -> Prussia

Here is the latest map

Builds:
Austria: 1 unit
England: 1 unit

Removes:
France: 1 unit
Russia: 1 unit

Deadline for Winter 1905 is Sunday 30th August at 20:00 GMT

No need, thanks. Home computer is working again, and the problem with the work computer wasn’t the ability to read the map so much as the feasibility of studying it on the company dime in the middle of an open-plan office. :smiley:

I quit that job yesterday to start a new one next Weds, and am still fuming over the cheap-ass card and offhand presentation of same, but I guess it’s better than getting fuck-all on leaving like at my last job. My, but I must inspire such devotion in my co-workers. :rolleyes:

/hijack

Malacandra, since you are on, do you wish to discuss our mutual problem? You can help me take Spain, in which case I will help you (directly or indirectly) into Marseilles in the fall. Me getting Spain will provide for a more or less symmetric situation around the relevant stalemate line: I’d only be able to put pressure on the Western Med with two fleets, while likewise you could only impinge on the MAO with two fleets. With Germany’s help, we’ll finish off France, and then I’ll likely call for a 4 way draw (as any potential German/Austrian war will also likely be a stalemate, tactically if not in certainty).

RUSSIA NEARLY GONE. STOP.

FRANCE CHASED FROM ENGLAND. STOP.

BIG FOUR TO FACE OFF. STOP.

So here, we in Winter 1905

Builds
Austria: Army Budapest
England: Fleet London

Removes
France: Fleet Irish Sea
Russia: Army Prussia

**Deadline for Moves for Spring 1906 is Tuesday 1st September at 20:00 GMT **

4-way draws are the pits - someone go for the solo!!!

Heh. Let’s You And Him Fight. But I admit it may be hard for either alliance to make progress at this point, and harder still for either member of each alliance to see a way to profit by betraying the other, especially in open press.

Still waiting for orders from everyone except Austria and Germany.

Don’t forget the deadline is in about 9 hours.

I guess we’ve all accepted the inevitability of a 4 way draw.

Looks that way. I will gladly accept French support for Gulf of Lyons to Spain, but I don’t expect it to make much difference even if I get it. :slight_smile:

It seems that England has spent longer than he thought looking for the Loch Ness Monster and suddenly realised the deadline was upon him.

I’m sure they will be in by the morning. :wink:
