Processing orders early is okay with me too.
Well, the deadline is in about 1/2 hour or so.
Well, this is kind of depressing, we seem to have a rogue country who has not sent in their order and missed the first deadline. This would be France.
So either Tristan drops me a note saying he is still in the game but goes NMR for the first round or if he is not able to play then the first person to send me moves for France gets the role and I will process their moves accordingly.
I’ll extend the deadline by 24 hours to account for this.
Not really the way I wanted to start this game.
Get another player. Being late on moves for the first turn is ridiculous.
Gah!
A combination of an unexpectedly extended shopping trip has potentially screwed me. I’m still in, though I understand if I’m to be NMR.
I have sent moves, in the off chance they can be extended. If not, and I am to be NMR, well, that will teach me.
My sincerest apologies to all players, and especially to our esteemed GM.

[Italy]
Austria: Circumstances may have offered Us more options than We had expected. Perhaps We can aid you in strengthening against what might be a Juggernaut at your back. As a gesture of good faith I would move my fleet to harbor in Africa and not interfere with your assuming control of Greece.
[/Italy]
[Confused]
Tristan sent in his moves, correct? And you extended the deadline, right? So why did he go NMR?
[/confused]
See the bold part above.
The point being that if someone subs in for Tristan, it is unfair on them to immediately handicap them for Tristan’s late orders. If **Tristan **still wishes to be in the game then he is bound by the deadline and so he goes NMR.
Don’t forget all, if you need an extension, tell me.
On second thoughts, if all the other players are in agreement, I can process his moves and update the map accordingly.
Your choice.
Ack - that’s a thorny question. I would say for the sake of interesting gameplay you should process his moves, but that any future missed deadlines (by anyone) will result in NMR. I can sympathize with those who would vote the opposite way’s position as well.
[Russia]
Sultan Malacandra:
Doubtless you see that you will make no progress against Sevastopol as you planned. I doubt there’s any point in pursuing a diplomatic arrangement. If we must fight to a standstill, so be it.
Prime Minister DiFool:
I still stand by my promise not to interfere in your occupation of Norway. I do wish to have significant say in how the remaining territories in Scandinavia are allocated. A negotiated settlement would likely be wise and profitable for the both of us.
Kaiser Omniscient:
Likewise, I would prefer a negotiated agreement with you on the disposition of Scandinavia. To Russian thinking, Denmark clearly fits within the German sphere of influence and I have no intention of interfering with your rightful claims on that country.
King History Geek:
Please pardon my butting in to issues that are none of my business, but it seems to me the fleet in Tunis may prove too difficult to put to sea again in response to any - er - ‘situations’ that may arise. I could suggest that you and the Archduke take a cruise on the Aegean perhaps? 1902 should be a lovely year for such an adventure.
[/Russia]
I won’t lie, I would love it if my orders were allowed, but if not, I have nothing but approval.
Dang it.
That being said, I leave it to the esteemed other players to make the suggestions as I am more than a bit biased.
If of course he already sent them in before the other player’s results were published, then as I said I have no problem with it. I am concerned a bit with the balance issues on the Western front if he does go CD. After this tho no slack.
I won’t be doing any in-depth diplomatizing until the French issue is resolved. I’ll just comment on the other fronts for now. The Grecian question will be an interesting one-here explicit agreements might trump secrecy. Likewise Turkey apparently has no interest at all in any sort of Russian alliance. Italy and Austria didn’t attack each other but nor do they appear to trust each other.
Austria
:Shakes head:
Rookie mistake Russia. Wish I could help at this point.
History Geek- I’m not sure what juggernaut you see. All I see is a Tsar with a giant scimitar sticking out of his back. I am happy that you will let me into Greece, and I certainly am not closing the door on future cooperation. However, as I can never be too trusting I plan on moving Tri-Ven to ensure that no one gets stabby. I suggest you take appropriate measures to defend Ven.
If he sent 'em, I don’t object to their being processed, in the name of game balance.
[Turkey]
Sincere apologies, Tsar - I thought I was being played for a fool and I would be very vulnerable if I let you into the Black Sea and found myself on the wrong end of a Russo-Austrian alliance. The evidence is that I was wrong. Further discussion when we have seen what has become of the French communique, I suggest.
[/Turkey]
I say process the moves as well.
Given the number of people consenting, I will process the orders and extend the deadline to allow suitable time to catch up.

Deadline for Autumn 1901 is Tuesday 14th July 20:00 GMT.
Don’t be late.
[Turkey]
Fascinating. Looks like France is aiming to piss off both England and Germany, who seem to be at least tacitly in cahoots against Russia.
I have to say that, considered dispassionately, Sevastopol and Rumania in Turkish hands don’t necessarily favour me any more than those two centres in the hands of a Russia who is an active ally - but that would certainly entail immediate hostile action by Russia against Austria, as it is obvious I have nowhere else to go barring an offer of, say, Austrian alliance against Italy, which is not something often seen, and I cannot afford to sit on the fence while Austria grows fat in the Balkans.
My neighbours’ choices this Fall and Winter will do much to influence Turkish policy next year and for the immediate future - as is doubtless obvious to all. And actions will speak louder than words.
