SDMB Fantasy Football Auction League

I was doing alright up until KC totally choked and allowed Rivers 2 TDs in the last few minutes. It’s 73.34 to 47.58 in his favor.

I didn’t even get the XP for Kaeding for those TDs because they went for 2 both times.

Grr.

Yeah, but I don’t feel safe, because you have the potential to make up a LOT of points on Monday night with Westbrook and the Philly defense.

Also, Boldin is biting the big one so far.

If not for the stupid flex/rb issue, I would’ve started White/Moss/Bryant and had 14 more points.

Heh, I meant started Roddy White, not the LenWhale, of course.

Well, the afternoon games went pretty well for me. Boldin didn’t do anything, and 7 points is a pretty low score for a kicker playing for a team that put up almost 50.

I need 33 points with Westbrook and the Philly D. Not out of reach, especially with Westbrook putting that much up himself the last 2 weeks.

However, I have my doubts. Cleveland plays better on primetime games, and the defense just held the Colts offense to 3 points in a remarkably good effort (a defensive TD gave them 10 total). I don’t know if the team has quit or not, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they held Westbrook to relatively modest numbers, and if Ken Dorsey did a good job of protecting the ball (and scoring 10 points in the process, but giving a fantasy defense that many points).

I’m not on StatTracker, could I bother you to fill me in on how my teams are doing? I know it will come down to Barber and Witten tonight, but I’m wondering how big a lead I have (if any). Thanks to anyone.

Cooley High 80.44
Exploding Pancakes 47.58

New York Fanboys 40.80
Cobra Kai 90.02

Last Place 110.04
Spiritus Bargain Bin 84.20

Dissapearing Pencils 128.70
Ocho Cincno 73.04

Thanks. Maybe I’ll repay the favor next week.

I like cheesecake.

Crap, I thought I was eliminated so I didn’t set my roster. In hindsight I probably would have started Ward in place of Jacobs, Favre over Eli, and Cotchery over Toomer, but I also would have sat Washington to put Bradshaw in.

The net result would been +10 points, meaning I would have lost by 25 instead of 35.

Fair’s fair. Didn’t you slosh me last year in the real playoffs?

80.44 to 47.58 seems like a pretty huge gap with just 1 DST and 1 RB to play, but if my players hit their projected scores it would be 80.44 to 80.03, so it’s pretty close. I just need them to exceed their projected scores by a point.

Still have my doubts though. I think Cleveland may put together a surprisingly decent game just to sabotage me.

Edit: This has me put into the great position of having my fantasy team have opposite goals from my real team. Whee.

Oh well, it’s not like who I root for has any actual influence over anything.

In my money league, I’m down 22 points, with Westbrook to play. His season average is 17, so I need a bit of help, and the Brown’s run defense scares me a bit. But if the Eagles keep feeding him like the last two weeks, I think we can get it done.

Run fast and far Brian Westbrook of the Cure.

His average last last 2 weeks has been 35 points.

The Browns run defense is Shaun Rogers. Well, and D’Qwell Jackson is looking pretty decent. The Eagles mostly work the outsides and getting Westbrook in space so he may rip them up. They could run swings and screens off to the offensive left and watch as Kamerion Wimbley overpersues, gets eaten up by a tight end, or invents new and creative mistakes.

Woot I caught some random wifi signal at this theater. Victory dance coming up

Yeah run right at Rogers, Reidtard.

It’s not looking so good, Beef. I’m hitting the bourbon now.

14 points, still a game. Not looking to Westbrook much when Cleveland is giving uncontested passes to receivers

that kinds sucked. Westbrook missed a td by an inch, then mcdonald gets tackled 1 second from a td costing me a browns +10 1st half bet

ffs they took Westbrook out

I have had one crappy football weak.

  1. My suck ass (real) team sucked ass
  2. My fantasy team in the other league lost because when I kept going back and forth between Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas, the window for changing the roster closed right before I was about to switch back to Thomas
  3. I lost in this league partly because I stupidly started Bush in the flex instead of RB slot. After knowing the LenWhale was injured, I would’ve started 3 WRs if I could’ve, which would’ve given me the win. I could’ve also had the win of Reid or Morningwheg or whoever did they playcalls didn’t keep running Westbrook at the player who could stop him. And then they yanked him out of the game with a quarter still to go - I can’t really blame them for that one, but the way they used him while he was in was just stupid.
  4. My first half bet of Browns +10 would’ve hit, except McDonald’s 98 yard return didn’t score a TD. Yeah, that’s happened twice in NFL history. That same lack of scoring there probably cost me the Browns +16 and Over 40.5 (Lost the damn over bet by a half point! Grr).
