Especially kicker and defense as they’re easy to miss
100 percent of defenses are owned, that’s pretty wild.
I feel like there was a year where someone had 5 defenses on their roster, at least for a few weeks.

All defenses being owned makes sense to me. They’re assets that can’t become injured or bust out of the NFL and they’re usually cyclical where they tend to become at least decent every few years. It allows you to play matchups and we have 25 roster slots, so I’d rather carry 2 extra defenses than have two really borderline probably out of the NFL next year guys on my roster. There aren’t enough defenses to go around for everyone to have 3, which is why I’m generally not willing to cut one of mine and potentially be stuck with 2 for a long time.
It is going to make me absolutely insane if my last cut manages to go from Mr. Irrelevant to a valuable piece of your team.
Yahoo projections are a bit silly because they have don’t have fractional predictions, so if a team that’s projected to score 100 points plays a team projected to score 99 points 13 times, yahoo projects 13-0 and 0-13.
The power rankings make more sense to look at, because it’s the total point projection with optimal rosters. This is what Yahoo predicts for the season:

That’s weird. When I looked for FA defenses Yahoo said all of them were owned.
I was feeling really good about the strength of my team going in to week 1 - I have Najee Harris and Jerry Jeudy on my bench pending clarification of Judy’s health - and then I looked at my matchup with Petey. He is favored at every single position except RB2 and WR2 (and the projection is only a 0.03 difference for WR2).
We just talked about how all the defenses were owned like 3 posts ago. There was a run at the end of the draft.
All unowned players are now on waivers for 2 days so you can put FAAB bids if you decide you want to take a stab at someone available.
That was a Yahoo bug, and is the reason I was including cut lists in the draft results.
Oh woops, I misunderstood you and you were talking about searching during the draft. I noted the problem that yahoo wasn’t updating players that were cut from the draft submission but only those that were added. Best solution we had was to tell people about the issue and then collect the cuts list and start posting that with the draft results so people could see the additional cut player pool that was available. I’m sorry if you didn’t notice that and it kept you from drafting a defense, but we did the best we could to notify people about the issue caused by the change in yahoo’s behavior.
No biggie. I didn’t particularly want the ones that were available anyway (though I may regret that when I have to throw Aaron Donald And Ten Other Guys out there a couple of times this year).
I hope @Jules_Andre is doing his roster reviews this year, I really like to read them, but I realize it’s a ton of work so I’d understand if we don’t get them every year.

Gah! Kelce is out tonight, which leaves me in a real bind at TE. I have two promising young guys backing him up, but neither is a starter and one is a rookie. That’s…not great.
EDIT: I was leaning towards Trey McBride since Zach Ertz is questionable, but man the Cardinals are a dumpster fire. Still, McBride is in his second year and if Ertz is slowed maybe McBride gets some production.
But googling around, all signs say to start LaPorta. A rookie TE who didn’t even play a single snap in the preseason. Jesus Christ.
Guess I’m starting LaPorta. I need to send a princess Leia message over to Kelce’s house: Save us, Travis, you’re our only hope.
EDIT 2: While I was in there I figured I’d start Skyy Moore over Hollywood Brown since Brown is questionable, and again, the Cardinals offense. Plus it adds a little juice for watching tonight’s game.
