Sounds like one of the best possible outcomes to his injury - only a torn MCL.
They said the surgery might uncover more damage but yes given how gruesome the injury was it’s near-miraculous if that’s the only big damage.
Good news, bad news for me. De’von Achane may be having his breakout game (2 TDs and 18 points before the half) but I’m starting… Latavius Murray hoping he gets a goal line carry or two beacuse Achane didn’t seem like he was getting any action and Mostert was doing really good.
And guess who has Mostert on the damn bench!
Sam LaPorta’s halftime stat line was 7 catches for 77 yards and a TD. Early signs indicate that I do indeed now have an heir to Kelce. Very excited.
Meanwhile, my quarterback crew is a dumpster fire without Rodgers.
I might be willing to move Dak in a good deal.
I’m going to lose with a 50 point score on my bench. Ffs. I lost my other game with something like a 40 point Dallas D on my bench. Both much bigger than the margin of loss. A few bad decisions had a massive impact on my season so far.
Achane had 1.4 points last week. I think I might be starting whatever RB is playing the Broncos going forward but you couldn’t have known how productive he would be today.
Well it’s not like I had another great option I benched him behind. My top 3 RBs were down and I picked Latavius Murray hoping he’d pick up a goal line steal (which, to be fair, is exactly what he did). But yeah I figured they were easing him in since Mostert has looked amazing for a 31 year old RB and he was coming back from an injury.
I know, I should be happy since it’s a breakout game from my first round rookie, but starting the season with 2 losses is pretty rough on my playoffs chances.
Well now that I’m getting a bit over the butthurt of having 50 points on my bench, I’m a little more happy that my first round pick actually looks pretty good for the first time in quite a few years. I am amazed that Mostert is still as good as he is at age 31, so it’s probably still going to limit Achane’s upside this year, but it’s good to see he’s got the talent and the situation. Maybe old man Mostert will wear down as the season goes on and it’ll be the Achane show.
Just a reminder that London games begin this week so don’t get caught
So I put up 165 points this week. Pretty happy about that. Not so happy that it’s not even close to being the top score, which is Jules who came up a quarter point short of scoring 200. What is the single game scoring record in this league again?
The margin of victory of Jules over Retro was 128.69, which by itself was high enough to beat 7 teams this week. I’m sure that margin is a record.
De’Von Achane will return to Earth I’m sure but it looks looks like I finally made the right call when I was deciding between drafting 2 guys, which I’ve had a terrible rate with the last few years. I almost drafted Kendre Miller over him.
It’s a little bizarre that Detroit drafted Gibbs something like 12th overall only to run the hell out of David Montgomery but I’m enjoying this career resurgence, especially after I desperately needed it when Dobbins and Chubb went down.
203.19 by Retro, three years ago. This is the second year in a row I would have shattered that all-time score had I not adjusted my normal weekly lineup right before Sunday. Ah well, last season turned out so well for me, why not do it again. I look forward to finishing 4th again
I think Kyle Pitts might be the most crippling player in the league to own. Sure, it’s one thing just to be a low value player that you expect to score 3 or 4 points a week. You can cut them or replace them easily. But to have a guy who should be really good, and may still achieve greatness one day with a change in situation… that keeps you from investing in the position. You’re kind of trapped with him.
I guess tight end is kind of a weird position right now anyway with hardly anyone standing up above the crowd, so I guess I’m not that far behind. But it’s annoying how mismatched his potential is with his actual situation.
Fun decision this week. Start the dominant Dallas defense against San Francisco, who are super efficient and don’t give defenses a chance to score (best in the league), or the Denver defense that just gave up 70 points but they’re against a much easier target in the Jets? Probably two bad choices.
Speaking of TEs, while I am still happy with the results of the trade, I’ve always had a bit of seller’s remorse with Hockenson. One of the reasons I was happy to settle for LaPorta was that I figured Detroit knows what they’re doing with TEs based on my experience with Hockenson. (Who I traded because I never started him over Kelce.)
Goddamn LaPorta is looking solid. Through four games he’s the #2 scoring TE in our league, behind only…Hockenson. Gah! (And I’m still not starting him over Kelce either, who is only 5 points behind despite missing a game.)
In hindsight, I’m quite content that Kincaid was taken just ahead of me. LaPorta has been quite the consolation prize.
BTW…I actually won a game. This could prove catastrophic for my tank.
I’m on night schedule and about to go to sleep here at 8:30am Sunday morning. Saquon is doubtful for today, but still technically a game time decision, so I slotted Samaji Perine in as the more likely situation. If Saquon does start, can I start him instead of Perine?
Fine with me, although I think it’s confirmed that Saquon is definitely out.
Yes, we’ve made conditional starts like that before. Only we use an objective criteria (whether active or inactive) rather than whether they “start” which can be sort of ambiguous. If Saquan was active, I would’ve swapped him into your lineup. In any case he wasn’t so no changes are needed.
Yep, understood and agreed. I meant active, not start. And even though nothing needed to happen, thanks much.
