Kind of a strange pick for me. RB would be good here but the pickings are getting pretty slim already. There were a few decent choices for WR here, and I do need an injection of young talent, so if I made a mistake it was probably not picking someone like Leggett. And I don’t even need a QB - Josh Allen is set to be my starter for a long time to come, and so I’m really just buying him, hoping he’ll be great, and one day I can trade him.

His landing spot kind of sucks. Alex Van Pelt does not lead good offenses. The Patriots have very little offensive talent.

On the other hand, the Pats drafted him #3 and refused several big offers to trade out of that spot, so he’s their guy, they’re going to give him every chance to succeed. He’s only 22, and he had his breakout season at age 20. He’s got all the tools (said of many NFL busts) and he has a really high ceiling. If I wasn’t pretty set at QB and needed one with a higher floor, I’d have gone with Nix although I’d have probably tried to wait until the third round.

Kind of funny - mostly listed reasons it’s not a good pick for me and yet I made it and we’ll see if it takes off. I didn’t love any of the other options.

Well, I missed out on my Kyren William’s current backup by 2 picks, now I missed out on my Breece Hall’s current backup by 2 picks. Great.

Well, let’s join the “Not a fan of the current WRs” crew since Legette is gone, and join the “current backup RBs are really effin’ cool”, and go with a veteran that the team likes.

Damn, Mason is my guy. I was hoping to grab him later. As a Niners fan I can tell you that he’s a fantastic RB.

The run against Seattle last year to seal the Niners NFC West title caught my eye, but with Mitchell around, he was just a guy to keep an eye on. Then Mitchell goes on season ending IR, and Mason is the guy.

If I had not made the the trade for 2.10, I was hoping to grab Mason at 3.02 I still underestimate how much RB value gets pushed up in this league.

Don’t know what to do here. Some of you are saying they don’t like the crop of WRs on the board here and I disagree. There’s 3-4 guys on the board I wish I could draft right now.

From a roster construction POV I really ought to be looking at RB, but the upside isn’t really there except as a handcuff. Gonna stew on this a little.

I like some of the WR still available, too. I think the RB run created some nice value. But since I led with Nabers/Coleman I needed to join the rush instead of taking advantage of it. I see several WR on the board that would make solid picks, depending upon how you think 2025 rosters might look.

Quick question:

I was checking out my roster, and the guys I cut are still listed as still being on my team. They don’t show up under the yahoo Players tab, as being eligible to be drafted. They’re still eligible, correct? They’re just not listed in the players tab as free agents.

That’s strange. Haven’t seen that happen in previous drafts. Not sure if Beef or Yahoo did something different this time around. My drops are not showing either, but they should definitely be eligible.

Unfortunately that started happening last year as I mentioned in this post. It used to be as you entered the draft, it would be reflected in the player listings under yahoo, so that you could search for remaining players, but unfortunately they changed it so that the partially submitted draft doesn’t seem to affect the player tab like it used to. I couldn’t find any fix.

I could maybe submit the draft (rather than save a partially completed draft) on yahoo, but I don’t know if I would be allowed to then re-open it to edit it or not, so if it didn’t work it’d be a huge pain in the ass and I had to manually edit in all 300 players using the roster management tools.

This isn’t perfect because you can’t search for projected stats, but I’ll at least collect the cut players in one post so you can reference it to see if there’s anyone you’d like to draft:

Yeah, I took a second look, and there’s no submitting the draft beyond simply updating it and saving the in-progress draft as I’ve been doing. When you’re done, you hit “begin season”, but it explicitly says there’s no entering draft results past that point. So unfortunately I think it’s something yahoo changed on the back end and there’s no way for us to fix it. We’ll just have to reference cut lists in the thread.
