Whoops, forgot the 7.01 this year and my last pick next year to balance
I type this with a newborn on my chest and on very little sleep, but football always comes first.
I live In Tucson. This guy only got to play one game for Arizona (which I’m still furious about), but I knew how good he was even before all the sleeper chatter and the Robinson trade. I figure I will be picking late in the 1st in 2026 any way so I pulled the trigger.

@Omniscient is on the clock
To be clear I won’t say no to 3.04 but putting me at the back of the round seems fairer.
Bill Croskey killed two stones with one bird.
Bill Croskey is a 10 foot monster who slept with all our wives! And punched us all in the face! And we loved him for it!"
To Bill Brasky! err…Croskey!
Congrats on the kid, PeteyPart2. And to you too Omni.
Bill Croskey Merritt Part2 seems like a good name for a newborn.

Would you be a yes vote for end of the draft instead of natural last pick? We could maybe compromise with that for this year and then revisit next year
I would. Pick at the end feels like a fair adjustment
Fo the record, I voted NO specifically because it created too much of an advantage for RNATB. He gets to have his cake and eat it too. If the rule is that RNATB gets the very last pick in the draft aka a free waiver pick up at 7.04, I’d be a YES.
As an aside, I would repropose we postpone the draft until after final cuts as this type of issue is wholly predictable. We should have more than enough time to complete the draft if we are simply more strict on preventing long delays between picks.
I will make my pick in about 90 minutes. I need to head to the eye doctor and I’ll pick after.
We used to do this in this league with compensatory picks at the end of the draft for injured players. A vote was taken and the league decided not to do that anymore. This seems like the same situation, so I don’t know why we would be doing this.
Every team has multiple beat writers that do roster projections. We all have a very good idea of who is most likely getting cut. Anyone on the roster bubble doesn’t matter, anyway. It’s a choice to keep them, and reversing that choice when it doesn’t go your way seems like bad policy.
I agree. Not sure why we need a rule to save someone from a decision they themselves made.
Correct, we’re all operating on the same information. And Corley is now a Cleveland Brown, so I don’t see that any injustice was done.
Really struggled on this one. Don’t love any of the RB options left at this point and Harris’ tape is great, but he has all the makings of the next perpetually injured Chargers WRs. Let’s hope the games where he actually plays are dominant.

(Accidentally sent a PM to the thread.)
2.10 Jaydon Blue, RB, Dal
Went back and forth with 3 or 4 guys with this pick, but at the end of the day opportunity was the tie breaker. Of all the RBs I looked at only Blue really has an open path to being a major contributor early. And Blue’s ability in the passing game looks special. Between Tuten and Blue I have the two fastest RBs in the class, for whatever that’s worth.
@SenorBeef is on the clock.
What can I say? I like my running backs like I like my women. With a quick first step, black, slightly undersized, and 20.6 years old.
2.11 Dylan Sampson, RB, CLE
@RetroVertigo is on the clock.
I probably would’ve taken him with the 2.11 if you hadn’t. He’s super fun to watch but I don’t know if his skillset translates very well to the NFL. It’s fun being the mean dude who likes to blow people up but everyone in the NFL is as big and as bad as you are and their tackling technique is better. I’d like for him to succeed though because he’s very entertaining.
I didn’t do a little write up for my 2.04 pick, Jayden Higgins. I actually don’t like his tape (the 15 minutes of it I watched) all that much. Reception perception doesn’t like the guy because he has terrible numbers beating man coverage. His highlights are mostly no one being within 10 feet of him because the defense made a bad play call or the offense made a good one.
On the plus side, good athlete with great hands, size and speed. Love his situation - Nico Collins draws the best coverage and he’s attached to a prolific young QB.
I think Burden is more talented, but he’s in a crowded situation. The Bears have a very expensive DJ Moore, a top 10 pick from last year at WR, a top 10 pick from this year at TE – how many targets can there be for him? On the other hand, you could see Ben Johnson designing an ASRB type slot role for him and he could very well be productive.
He’s one of those WRs that loafs if he’s not the designed target of the play, and NFL coaches hate that, especially when there are plenty of other good receivers on the team. So he’s gotta improve his attitude or he’s going to be on the coach’s shit list. That said, I usually draft talent over situation so this was a bit of an unusual pick for me.
If I went RB I probably would’ve taken Skattebo here, but as I said, I’m not sure his game translates, so I took the guy who seems like he’ll have a high floor at WR.
For the 2.12, we’re running out of RBs and I figured I should take one. I just don’t have many on my roster. The situation isn’t great since they picked Judkins 90 picks ahead of Samson which tells you where their priorities are. People are saying he’ll be the third down scatback but that actually wasn’t really his style in college and I think people make too many assumptions about running style just based on weight.
I like his running style a decent bit. It’s hard to say what his numbers in college mean, coming out of a gimmicky Tennessee system with lots of open running space. Given the lack of contract/possible suspension Judkins may not be available for a few weeks, so that gives Samson a chance to prove he’s good. I’m not super confident in this pick but it’s the end of the second round and we’re quickly running out of RB talent.
I like Sampson as a prospect more than guys who went before him like Blue, Harvey, K. Johnson, or even Quinshon. Sure he’s no Omarion Hampton, but he’s got 3 down potential, and he’s improved as a pass catcher. Fumbles are a problem though. Good pick, you bastard.
