SDMB Fantasy Football DYNASTY League: Year Eight

Yeah, Fuller is the top guy at that slot and I don’t know why he isn’t hyped up more. We’re gonna be drafting 5th round RBs over 1st round WRs. But I just can’t take anymore WRs, I’m packed to the gills, so I figured I’d try to sell him to someone.

I’ll get my pick in within an hour. If anyone wants to move up a bit I’m open to pretty much any trade down.

Alright, I traded 2.04 to Justin Bailey.

I get: 3.06, 2017 2nd rounder, option to switch 2017 first rounders
He gets: 2.04, 2017 3rd rounder.

Justin is on the clock.

My plan to punt this draft is coming to fruition!

Wait, hold up a sec, I may be an idiot. Let me confirm.

Edit: Yeah, I already promised away my 2017 3rd rounder to Ellis Dee. Let me think up some sort of alternative solution. Sorry, my bad.

Okay, tweaked that deal. Next year becomes a 2nd for 4th swap, but in compensation, we do a 3rd for 4th swap this in his favor. Sorry for the complexity.

In total

I get:

3.06, 4.5, Justin’s 2017 2nd rounder, option to switch 2016 1st round picks.

Justin gets 2.04, 3.09, Beef’s 2017 4th rounder.

Did I get that right?

To summarize, Justin turns the 3.06 and 4.5 into the 2.04 and 3.09, both favorable trades for him. In compensation, I get his 2017 2nd rounder in exchange for my 2017 4th, and the option to swap first round picks if he has a higher first round draft pick than me.

Justin asked what would happen in the event that I didn’t have a fourth rounder to give him this year, and the answer to that is that he’d get my third - or since my third is already traded to Ellis Dee, he’d get one of my second rounders. It would keep going until the guy who traded for it got equal/better value. But I’ll just make sure to cut 4 players next year to make it work - just wanted to reiterate the policy in case it ever came up.

Justin is up. My first pick of the draft will be 3.06.

Yes, you got that right. There’s a few names I was considering, so if anyone else is looking to move down, we should talk. But for now, I’m taking…

2.04 Paul Perkins, RB, NYG

FWIW, he was going to be my guy if I had to take the pick, I just don’t like this draft very much and was happy to stock up for next year. It was down to him and Howard and I feel like he had the better chance of amounting to something. (If I didn’t trade down with Retro, I may have taken Fuller myself just to take a 1st round WR over a 5th round RB, but I’m really trying to avoid drafting more WRs given my roster balance)

Summary of my moves this draft:

Traded down from 1.09 to 2.03. Got Ellis Dee’s 2017 2nd for my 2017 3rd.
Traded down from 2.03 to 2.04. Swapped 4th rounders with Retrovertigo to move from 4.08 to 4.01.
Traded down from 2.04 to 3.06, and 3.09 to 4.05. In return got Justin’s 2017 2nd rounder in exchange for my 2017 4th rounder, and the right to swap 2017 first rounders.

So my first pick of this draft will be 3.06, but I have 3 2nd rounders next year and a potential pick swap.

Alright, Draft Results page should be all updated & accurate, though there have been a lot of moves so it’s not impossible that there’s a mistake somewhere.

RNATB is up – presumably he got a PM?

Yes. I’ve also almost got an update to the draft board + trades summary done.

Here’s the board for the new page (I think this is all correct)…

Because he’s straight line speed guy with questionable hands and whose production in fantasy will be completely unpredictable and boom or bust. He’s Ted Ginn/Bernard Berrian/Torrey Smith who might get you an impressive game every once in awhile, but who you will.never want to start.

On preview, I noticed Justin also did this list. Sorry for the duplication. I think my list has a couple of corrected errors (most significantly Varlos originally had Ellis giving me a 2017 3rd for my 2017 2nd, which was reversed and corrected in this version)

I also may have broken Varlos’ convention regarding listing “via” trades. I tried to notate it like NFL com did, with the “via [original holder] via [first guy to gain possession of it] via [second guy to gain possession of it] via [last guy to have possession of it].” It may break his convention. Or maybe we just haven’t had a pick traded 5 times He can check tomorrow.

Otherwise I would suggest using mine going forward, since I think it contains fixes.

Please correct any errors. And I think Jules may have been given Dale’s last pick as an implicit part of trade #1, but I’m not sure what pick that was, so I didn’t include it. Varlos can include that in the next version.

Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t really see the point of including the 3.06 and 3.09 picks in this deal at all. Just straight up 4.05 for 2.04 plus all the next year stuff seems like it should be sufficient.

Not an objection or complaint; just an observation.

I suppose that’s true. The original plan was 2.04 down to 3.06 in order to get back a 2nd for a 3rd last year. Once I realized that I couldn’t do that deal because I owed you my third rounder next year, and I had to switch to a 4th next year, my immediate reaction was to just add some value this year, hence the extra 4th to 3rd trade. But I could’ve kept it similar to simply move my asking price to a 4th rounder this year.

Ultimately it works out to be pretty much the same - I move up a few spaces in the third is the only real difference. Just wasn’t my original line of thinking when I wanted to come up with a proposal in a few minutes to fix my fuckup.

A little shocked he fell to me here. I seriously thought about taking him, Perkins or Booker in the first round. PM’ing Jules.

I was getting excited too. I seriously considered him in the first.

Yep, this round has now officially become a disaster. If my second round draft board was a mock draft, I’d be hitting 100%. This is going to take a long time.

Is Washington who you were planning to take when you offered to trade for my pick?

I think I sent a different offer (and I sent another just now, too). But I was going to jump on Washington in approximately 5 seconds after you made your pick. I have a couple people I would take here, but I’d prefer to move back.

Well, you need TE depth, and rookie TEs take a while to develop. Miller’s not going to set the world on fire but he’s probably worth dropping a second-rounder for a third.
