Well, you kind of knew what you had with him. Feel bad for the guy, though.
What’s that? A potential stud?
I don’t think you can call a guy injury prone for bizarre contact injuries like a lacerated kidney or a broken collarbone.
Well I got lucky, I squeaked out a victory with 101 points when everyone was scoring 110+ this week.
Demaryius Thomas had an MRI on his hip with no information released except that they were getting a second opinion. There’s not really any way that could be good, and there aren’t that many ways you can injure your hip that aren’t really really bad.
I watched the GB/Jax game and I was reassured that they targeted Robinsons like 94 times even though GB was doing an amazing job blanketing him.
Jordy scored a TD in his first game back, which is good. I didn’t see enough of him to see if it seemed like he was 100% or not.
Lamar Miller got 28 rushes which is a really good sign, even though he didn’t hit the end zone. It’s good to see they clearly want him to be a bell cow.
Well shit. Thought I had a chance against Stringer, but alas.
However, my team seems to have some good pieces and should give me a chance to compete.
Holy shit, I have a chance to win! I checked in on the score of my game when there happened to be just over 6 minutes left in the 4th of the Pit-Was game. I was trailing by just a half a point, but since all I had was 6 minutes of DeAngelo Williams left while Jules had a whole game of Todd Gurley, I knew I was toast.
But, a miracle! In those last 6 minutes, it turns out Williams scored 16.4 fantasy points by my count (44 yards and 2 TDs), and since Gurley has had a lousy 1st half, I’m now a slight favorite to win, needing only to dodge a 13.2-point 2nd half from Gurley.
DeAngelo Williams is the gift that keeps giving.
Also, I was oddly happy to see that Larry Fitzgerald had such a good Week 1 for Justin. I felt a little bad that the trade at the end of last season worked out so poorly for him in the short term.
Yeah, Justin pounded me into a fine paste. At least Carlos Hyde got me a few respectability points to end the week, jumping me up to 8th place in total points.
I left around 30 points on the bench/waiver wire (I signed the highest yahoo projected kicker, who scored 0), but even if I slotted all 30 extra points perfectly, Justin would still have crushed me by 20. And he left around 30 points on his bench, too. Had he predicted perfectly, he’d be staring down 200 friggin points. (~195, I think.)
190 it looks like. But man, I am really worried the Falcons are going to screw around with Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman all year. I could be leaving a lot of points on the bench every game.
That was always a next year type of trade. My team is already old as hell, so I figured I’d go for it one more time and push the rebuilding to next year. But I’m going to kick myself if Sterling Shepard turns out to be legit.
Dammit. After Sunday’s games, I was really hoping to get one up on you in the first week.
Looks like my team is for real. And I can pat myself on the back a little for starting Osweiler, even though he only outscored Dalton by half a point (and Ryan outscored both).
I was expecting Beef to lose after the early games, but first place is first place.
You’re welcome.
Trying to find a roster spot after week 1 is tough. You already cut all your dead weight for the draft, so who can you cut to pick someone up? Hard to give up on anyone after one week.
Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Now I remember why I stopped playing fantasy sports.
I had the highest scoring loss, which pretty much sums up where my team is. I can take comfort in that there’s only one winning team I would have beaten, but still.
Once again, I’ve placed myself squarely in the realm of impossible roster decisions, with about ten RBs and WRs in the 10-12 projected points range. Right now I have Woodhead, Watkins, Gio, and Duke Johnson sitting, while Cobb, Sanders, J-Stew, Crabtree, and McCoy start, but there’s really very little separating the two groups, and the “right” lineup is a matter of subjective impression. My job will get a little easier once DeAngelo Williams goes back to the Steelers’ bench and another lineup spot opens up … unless Pittsburgh decides to use him as part of a committee after Le’Veon Bell returns, in which case my job will get harder.
This is a roundabout way of saying I would be amenable to a 2-for-1 type of trade, especially at RB. It would have to be a legitimate upgrade for me, getting the best (dynasty) player in the deal, but my trade partner could easily wind up getting more total value. Think about it.
I’d be in the same boat.

Why the hell did the NFL get rid of the “Probable” injury designation? I know teams weren’t using it as they were technically supposed to (75% chance of playing), but it still provided information. Now “Questionable” has a wider range and is harder to interpret (says the man who started Jonathan Stewart, who barely played today).
Stewart suffered a new injury in the game,
… aaaand Doug Martin and Ameer Abdullah are both injured in the first quarter of their respective games.
My guys played all game and every one of them still sucked. Fantasy football is so frustrating.
The probable tag disappeared this year, btw. Not a fan of the change.
Neck-and-neck game at the top of the Northeast Division; at the moment Yahoo thinks it’s literally 50-50.
Uh oh
Adrian Peterson just hobbled off the field
Welp at least Travis Benjamin is a thing. I figured he would be, even before Allen went out, but now I suspect he’s going to be start-worthy going forward. Demaryius put up a nice 13.5 points despite being very hurt, even though I decided to limit my exposure to him to just two leagues and benched him here.
Jared Cook isn’t doing much of anything. I was hoping he was going to put it all together with a QB that could finally use his talents, but not much so far. Then again GB’s passing game has been slow to get started - having seen half of both of their games I actually think they’ve faced unusually good defensive efforts and that they’ll start getting on track. Jordy Nelson is the clear focus of that receiving corps and puts up productive numbers even when Rodgers doesn’t have a good day, which is nice.
I squeaked by in week 1 but made a pretty convincing win this week. 2-0 is always a nice start, putting me at the top of the division. Only 3 teams are undefeated - me, Stringer, and whoever wins between Varlos and Justin. Probably Justin since he only needs 4 points out of Alshon Jeffrey.
Your boy Aaron Rodgers couldn’t get anything going against the Vikings, cost Randall Cobb a good day and quite possibly me my game against Justin. Talk to him, would you?
On the bright side, DeVante Parker had a really good day, 8/106 (13 targets). No TDs, but if he can put up numbers on that scale on anything resembling a consistent basis, it’ll go a long way towards justifying my trade.
