Congratulations to dale on breaking his 0-fer and notching his first win of the season.
Still has some work to do to break into triple-digits for a single game, though – might be time to tear that team down, friend.

By the way, in case anyone missed it, Jules and Petey have agreed to a trade:
Jules Andre sends:
RB T.J. Yeldon
RB Chris Ivory
Petey sends:
QB Carson Wentz
WR Andre Johnson
I’m also a team potentially without a QB for next week.
In all seriousness, I am very willing to trade either Bennett or Miller - either on their own for a depth-chart RB/handcuff or draft pick, or packaged with the Rams for an upgrade on defense.
I don’t understand this trade at all. Wentz has been pretty good, but I think the last couple of weeks have put the brakes on the “next Peyton” talk and QB doesn’t seem to be Jules’ problem.
52.77! Holy shit that’s pathetic. Steelers having a bad week hurt me bad. But even if I played perfectly, the extra 40 points would have still left me a loser by double digits. Ah well.
Nice win, RNATB. Even if I had picked perfectly (Kenny Britt lives!), I couldn’t have pulled this one out.
Thanks.
What’s weird is that other than my ridiculous (and useless) TE depth and Matt Ryan (who I have failed to start in all his big games), my players are just so-so. My top three RBs are ranked 13th (Spencer Ware), 19th (Matt Jones!) and 23rd (Mark Ingram). My top three WRs are ranked 5th (Marvin Jones), 15th (Brandin Cooks) and 23rd (Nuk). My #2 QB is Andy Dalton, who is 11th.
It’s not really about the bye weeks, because only Ware, Ingram and Cooks have had their bye so far.
I do have the 6th and 9th ranked defenses, and I’ve done a good job of choosing between them week to week. But overall, I seem to be winning simply by having no holes.
Can we think about getting rid of kickers to add a non-kicker bench slot? I’ve grown to hate kickers.
I guess people who have good kickers now may object, but kickers usually aren’t strong for multiple years. Maybe we could agree to drop kickers in 2018 or something?
The problem is that Wilson hasn’t been great yet, and he’s not quite ready to be matchup proof. I can’t count on Wilson playing an entire season either, not when he’s been hurt twice already and has a terrible offensive line. You gotta have two startable guys in this league. And not just to play matchups. You can’t give up 2-4, 3-5, 6-8 games because your only guy got hurt. Now I’ve got my two for the next decade.
In hindsight, I overpaid a little. But, as far as what I paid, fuck those guys. That’s all I have to say about them.
Hey, Haushka was my only truly great draft pick in this league for a really, really long time. Don’t take that away from me.
I’m not joking. Here is the list of guys I’ve drafted in this league (other than the initial season, where we had full-roster drafts):
Not a single guy who I drafted from 2010 through 2013 is still on my roster except for Haushka. In fact, nobody who I drafted from 2010-2012 is even in the league anymore.
Then, all of a sudden, half the guys I drafted from 2014 on turned into gold. Jury’s still out on Perriman, of course, but I suspect he’s going to wind up as Baltimore’s #1 WR in a year or two.
Dropping kickers would get my vote.
Trade announcement:
Ellis Dee gets: Travis Kelce, Jamison Crowder, Indianapolis
Jules Andre gets: Jordan Matthews, Donte Moncrief, Buffalo
Woohoo! Travis Kelce is coming home, thank god. I so badly need a TE I can’t even put it into words. And I friggin’ DRAFTED Kelce his rookie year but then cut him the following offseason to my never-ending shame. This is a bigger homecoming than LeBron to Cleveland, by like a huge margin.
Good riddance to Matthews, who could never possibly live down the “I took you instead of Odell Beckam Jr?!” stink he’ll always have for me. I’m bummed to see Buffalo go, but I’ve been holding them as a trading chip for years now and this was finally the deal to justify pulling the trigger. And Moncrief is nice, but he was never really “my” guy, just picking him up as part of trade last year. (I think it was last year.)
Now I’m off to go pop the champagne.
Whoah.
Just FYI, you could have had Bennett for a lot less than that.
I value Kelce much higher than Bennett.
Not to say I wouldn’t still make a deal for Bennett…
Sure, but I would have taken just Moncrief. I don’t think you have enough WRs left to make a deal now, unless you want to give me Jarvis Landry.
Finally, some injury news that is going my way. Eddie Lacy is ruled out this week, so his backup, James Starks who I held onto, is set to start against the Bears. Awesome!
Wait? What?
Ty Montgomery is going to be playing RB for the Packers tonight, but he’s still only listed as a WR. So I can’t replace my RB2 slot with him, which is where I need him more than my WR/flex slots. Not sure out of Thomas/Nelson/Robinson/Meredith he should start over.
I’m actually considering starting Cody Kessler over Aaron Rodgers. I’m probably going to stick with Rodgers because I think this will end up being one of those drubbings GB saves for their division mates, but it shouldn’t even be a consideration. Now I’m worried it will be one of those games where GB goes up 21 points in the first half and then takes the rest of the game off.
I’m glad we’re both happy. Thanks for being a willing and pleasant partner in the negotiation.
Kelce going is sad though, since he was my only consistently good producer. But he’s really the last movable trade chip I’ve got to pick up a few upside guys to round out my roster.
Man, my team is young now. My oldest starter is 27, which is my quarterback. I’m three-deep with upside at RB, all 24 or under, and that doesn’t count Derrick Henry. I’ve got 4 upside WRs, 26 or under, and two more athletic freaks 24 and under ready to make a leap. My TE is 21. I still need a couple guys to step up to be a contender, but if they do, this team is going to be good for a long time. Maybe I’ll get lucky.
Russell Wilson. RGIII, Wilson again. Garoppolo. McCown. Now Hoyer. I am not sure it is possible to have more injuries at one position than I have had. Wilson hasn’t missed a game, but he hasn’t been healthy, either. That’s the primary reason I’m 2-4.
I hold Ty Montgomery for three years and now he becomes a thing. Sigh.
