I was never impressed with Bryant, but I also didn’t pay attention too closely. I have watched Pryor a few times this year, and it looks every bit like he’s quit on that team. He runs lazy routes, drops easy passes, and generally looks as though he doesn’t care. In the second Eagles game this year, he was essentially benched for the first half. He came in pissy and ran two god awful routes, and then dropped both passes that came to him. I can’t recall personally watching a more disinterested player since maybe Haynesworth?
I made it through my two bye-week nightmares 1-1, so I think I’m in a good position to get a playoff spot this year. Certainly not guaranteed, but playing for par would probably get me in. Yahoo projects**** 8-6 to get the wild card, so 9-5 probably takes our division. That would mean me finishing 3-2 in the last 5 games, all of which I’m a comfortably projected favorite. Usually the kiss of death for me, but we’ll see.
The Nine Inch Neils train keeps on rolling. I’m still concerned about what my team is going to look like at season’s end - Matt Ryan may be my only active QB, Kareem Hunt’s production has slowed considerably, and ASJ is my only active tight end - but I’m still posting 120 point weeks more or less automatically.
Also, I’m finally putting a small amount of daylight between me and **Beef **record-wise, which gives me a bit more of a margin for error during the divisional games.
**Varlos **is now projected to win the wild card, amazingly. I’m actually slightly nervous about seeing him in the playoffs; he’s basically matched my scores over the last five weeks (and looks like he will again this week).
I think I could’ve survived the loss of Rodgers if it didn’t also kill Nelson. But he went from a top 5 WR to nothing with Hundley.
I’ve kind of tanked this season with disinterest - I should’ve been out there putting out more trade offers - but I’m kinda fatigued by football and don’t put the extra effort into fantasy that I should.
It’s a shame, too, because making the playoffs for 8 years in a row is pretty impressive, but I think that streak will be broken this year.
I am so tired of negative points from a D/ST! I’m trying to do the most with a weak roster and I have no wiggle room for this nonsense.

From Yahoo:…Vernon Davis will be taking on the Giants on Thursday to face a defense that has allowed the most fantasy points to tight end position this season…
Naturally, he gets 0 fantasy points this game. The good news: My opponent in my money league started him. The bad news: I started him in the dynasty league, along with Dak Prescott who I was going to swap out for Case Keenum. Utterly hopeless week for me again.
If it makes you feel better, I started an inactive kicker (didn’t even check) and benched a 24 point scoring defense. It’s not exactly a runaway for me.
Welp, that’s probably my season. Death. Taxes. I’ll get screwed by random chance. With Beef facing, yet again, by far the lowest score in the league, I’m probably sunk. Especially since my team always fails to live up to what should happen. It would be less disappointing if it were from injuries. It’s always inexplicable.
Yeah, I’m really lucky this year. I don’t deserve to go anywhere. Almost every other year I’m in the top 3 of scoring, but this was a fluke year where I just sucked. What’ll probably happen is that I’ll finish outside the playoffs but won’t get the nice draft pick that a shitty year would normally provide.
You have two weeks to make up one game on me, which is very likely to happen because I probably won’t beat RNATB and you could easily win out. Varlos will probably win your division but I’d say you’ve got about an 80% shot to take the wildcard from me.
I’m going to end up the 5 seed in a year I should be in the running for the #1 overall pick which kinda sucks.
I think this (from the weekly recap) kind of says it all:
Against the schedule he actually played, **Beef **is 8-5.
In other news, I need approximately 240 points this week to break the all-time season scoring record. My scoring has been way down since Kareem Hunt stopped being a thing, but I’m playing dale who does have that sort of bad luck.
Varlos’ loss means I’m now locked in as the #1 seed. Jules would take the #2 with a win this week and a VZ loss based on his better division record. Stringer would take the #3 seed with a win and Retro loss. Beef - somewhat amazingly - would take the wild card if both he and Varlos win, or if he and Jules both lose, because he has a head-to-head win over Jules.* Varlos would take the wild card if Jules wins the division, because he beat Beef head-to-head. Everyone else is officially eliminated from playoff contention.
I’m not thrilled about playing Varlos’ Roster in the first round of the playoffs, because he has very good week 15 matchups and I have bad ones. I would feel slightly better about playing him in the final, where I have mediocre matchups. His team has been on fire the second half of the season; he’s outscored me since week 7 or 8.
*this is basically the same cockamamy setup that saw me miss the playoffs a couple of years ago despite being all but mathematically guaranteed a spot. Can we change the wild card tiebreaker to points for starting next season?
Interestingly, the 96.15 points I faced is just about exactly what your average opponent has scored* for the entire season.*
I’m not confident this week. It just hasn’t been my season. I don’t think that I’ve been exceptionally unlucky, but I sure haven’t caught many breaks. I’ve had six different healthy starters give me a 0, for no reason (as many as the two lowest scoring teams had, combined). I was projected to go 12-2, but I only exceeded my projected score twice all season. That perfectly illustrates exactly why I always have a bad taste in my mouth in fantasy.
Oh well. I ended up exactly where I expected going into the season, which is borderline playoffs. Hoping to take the final step next year with one more draft. Maybe I can sneak into the playoffs and finally get lucky.
Right, but I acknowledge the schedule has favored me and I should be in the running for the #1 pick, not for the playoffs. I haven’t created an “everything screws me” narrative, so I thought it was funny that you were going to overtake me based on a win when you could’ve only beat 2 other players.
I have 7 players on IR this year, significantly more than anyone else, and it’s been pretty rough. And Jordy Nelson might as well be on IR since he’s had zero usefulness except wasting a starting WR slot since Rodgers went out.
I’ve still got an unlikely shot to make the playoffs. I need to beat Isotopes, which is a projected 47% chance, and Jules needs to lose to Ellis, a 56% chance, giving me a 26% chance overall.
Jules would actually win his division with a win and a Varlos loss, but largely irrelevant since they both make it in in that scenario - I can’t beat the tiebreaker on Varlos for the wildcard.
Stringer can actually overtake Retro for a division win. He needs to beat Hamlet and for Retro to lose to Omni.
I know you guys are rooting for me because I am beloved and having an 8 year playoff streak is pretty awesome and something that would be great to extend. I appreciate it.
