Ryan Mathews has put up 11, 0, 20, 0 points so far this year. I didn’t know whether to start him or not. I made a last minute switch to Chris Thompson. Let’s see how that goes.
Cutler must be one of the most frustrating fantasy QBs to own. He needs to wake the fuck up.
Atop my division after 4 weeks. Most points scored. My stud RB’s are doing well. Nice contributions from my youngish (and oldish) WR crew. My starting TE returning from injury. It’s all coming together.
…
Jamaal Charles leaves the game with a knee injury.
Of course.
Yahoo scoring is way off today. On the iPad app, it’s showing me points for the Denver defense and that game hasn’t started yet
Can Doug Martin play against Jacksonville every week? He’s single-handedly propelling me to probably victory over Beef (of course, I realize now that victory depends on Mike Vick not putting up a -2 or something, so ).
I’m pretty sure trading Devonta Freeman was a bad idea.
Holding my breath that the scores hold up overnight through stat corrections…
I bet it’s been quite a while since I’ve had a losing record after week 5.
I messed up the Ryan Mathews guessing game again. 10, 0, 17, 0, 17. Every other week seems too simple a pattern. Sproles was 17, 4, 21, 3, 4. At least I’ve got Ellington back and McCoy shouldn’t be out much longer.
I need a decent defense. Throw me some offers.
I’m very interested to see what you go with next week.
I finally benched Brandin Cooks and predictably he had a good game.
Yep. Jamaal Charles is done for the year with a torn ACL.
Sigh
I can’t yet put him on IR. If I pick up someone to replace him, I’ll drop someone else to pick up later when I can IR Charles.
Yep.
You could always drop him and pick him up later. That will totally work.
I’m back in first place in the division, after a pattycake win over Retro. Now I get to play Stringer, whose team has suddenly remembered it’s not terrible.
ODB is hurt, AB is bad with Vick, my RBs are a mess. Still terrible.
All of that was true last week and you put up the highest score.
Woo-hoo first place!
Parity continues to reign: only one team isn’t either 2-3 or 3-2. And the Sun Belt division continues to struggle; three of the four teams scored under 100 this week, whereas in the East no one scored below 117 (the East and Mid-West both averaged 121 points, the Sun Belt just 101.5).
You mean you can’t put him on IR because he’s not listed that way yet on Yahoo? Since he’s definitely going to IR, if Yahoo still doesn’t list him by tonight we can do it manually; you can drop Charles (or someone else) officially only, and then once Charles is IR-eligible I can take the player off waivers and add him to your roster. Actually, dropping a player other than Charles would probably be easier, and he’ll stay protected.
I think during the season people should have to wait for a player to hit IR to place players on IR.
Hmm, maybe. It would be easier to administrate, that’s for sure, and of course you wouldn’t want to do it if there were any doubt about the IR designation. But if it’s effectively certain, as it is in this case, I don’t see a lot of downside. What if the Chiefs put him on IR but Yahoo is a day slow updating his status?
It’s already bad enough to lose a player that way. If we can provide some relief so the slot is open to grab someone off waivers, we should. If it’s totally clear and yahoo is just slow to update their status.
My problem with it is we are 7 years into this league and I am sure people have had to wait in the past for a player to hit IR before picking up a replacement.
I think we’ve faced this exact situation before and provided relief to that player, I don’t remember the mechanic exactly. It’s the sort of player-friendly move I try to make available in all my leagues, although this one isn’t my league. There’s no favoritism at play, and this isn’t totally out of the blue with how we generally handle these sorts of situations.
