SDMB Fantasy Football DYNASTY League: Year Seven

I don’t specifically remember it coming up before, but I’m confident that I wouldn’t have voted that they have to wait. Much like now; I say let him put him on pseudo-IR now.

No worries. After not being able to put him on IR earlier, I just tried and he went on IR now. So I don’t have to drop anyone to pick up whatever player I’m eyeing (hint: It’s 2006 Ladainian Tomlinson). Sorry for the bother.

On the plus side, I got a guy I had never heard of until 2 weeks ago in Charcandrick West. I was angry at myself for bidding so high ($89), but desperate times …

Ends up I got him only $19 over the next highest bid. That’s a ton of cash for a likely split time flex player, but hey, I can dream he’s the next Arian Foster. And I have pretty good depth on my roster, just not too many big named studs, so it’s not like I’m bidding often for waiver guys.

With Charles gone, I have now lost my two highest point scorers (non QB) from last year to injury. Fantasy Football can be such a frustrating game.

I had bid quite a lot for West. At this point in the season it’s unlikely that anyone is going to emerge (barring another season-ending injury to an RB), so no reason not to spend big. I just blew my wad on Julius Thomas in the Big League.

I briefly considered throwing my entire budget ($88) at West. He may be unproven, but he’s a starting RB, and that won’t come back around in this league again all year.

Yeah, if I hadn’t donked away $31 on Vick then I would probably have bid almost all my cash on West and won him. Almost all of the guys who are one injury away from maybe being a fullish-time starting RB are already owned, so no one as promising is likely to come up again this year.

(Why else would I have DeAngelo Williams on my roster? Provides zero week-to-week benefit, provides zero long-term potential … but if LeVeon Bell gets hurt, y’all motherfuckers are in trouble.)

Denard Robinsons is effectively starting in Jacksonville, and Matt Jones is inactive in Washington making Chris Thompson a more effective start, and LeSean McCoy is unexpectedly active, and Ellington had a 63 yard TD last week but nothing else. In addition to the normal Sproles/Mathews lottery, I find myself with a glut of crappy options this week at RB with no idea who to start.

I’m still considering the big trade request I received this week , I can’t respond by PM since the owner that sent me it can not receive any more PM’s until he cleans out his mailbox.

Ugh, I’m 2-4. It is not looking good for me this year. I’m putting up a pretty good score this week, but I’m up against what will be either the highest or second highest score.

I didn’t put Martavis Bryant in the starting lineup because being his first game back and the Vick factor scared me off. But he put up 30 points. Bittersweet. It would’ve given me a chance to win, but at least it shows that he’s going to hit the ground running. I think he might be one of the best young WR assets going forward, not just a flex type of guy.

Travis Benjamin is still someone that no one is probably paying attention to, but he was the #4 scoring receiver this year and and had another productive day. It’s not just his big game - he’s had a high floor this season, scoring 17, 37, 11, 13, 11, 18. Remarkably, Josh McCown is actually awful at getting him the ball. Benjamin is routinely flying past the coverage and McCown misses him when he’s got 5 steps on the guy covering him. The one time Manziel was actually hitting the deep passes, he put up 37 points.

Next year my receiving corps is going to be incredible. Demaryius Thomas, Jordy Nelson, Allen Robinson (top 10 this year), Josh Motherfucking Gordon, Martavis Bryant, Travis Benjamin, I’m gonna have half the damn top 20 receivers. I can only start four of them, so I’m motivated to trade in some of this receiver currency for RBs.

I didn’t start Bryant in my money league either.

Four in a row! Go Devonta go!

Yeah, would you stop winning, please? And, Ellis, if you could knock it off, too, that’d be great. Goddamn it, furt’s gonna win this week as well. Can we go back to being the weak sister division?

Barring a 50-point performance from Odell Beckham, it looks like I’m going to win too. 4-2 and in control of the Sunbelt division, with everyone but possibly Petey losing too.

A 50-point performance from ODB would work for me. Go Eli!

Never!

I had to give up a solid starting RB to get them, but trading for Matt Ryan and (especially) Nuk has pretty much been the best move I’ve ever made:

Worked out pretty well for Varlos, too, since he still has Megatron and Randall Cobb, and at the time it looked as though Doug Martin and Jonathan Stewart would never be plausible fantasy starters again.

I must say I’m proud of my little ragtag group of players. Despite losing my two highest scoring players from last year (minus QB’s of course), I’m atop my division, and am less than one point behind the highest scorer in the league. It certainly helps, and is a nice surprise for me, to have the least points against scored, but I’m still plugging away. Keenan Allen and Brandon Marshall are doing well, and the ageless Steve Smith Sr. is a top 15 WR. If Adrian Peterson can return to being Adrian Peterson, and Joseph Randle can at least fill the roll of a RB2, I could at least stay in the running. I sure miss Jamaal Charles though.

Anyone else having difficulty accessing yahoo? I know they’re streaming the London game, but I can’t get the fantasy app to load or access yahoo.com

If you haven’t already, try it on a desktop. I got in fine just a few minutes ago.

Finally got logged in , but yahoo is running extremely slow. Between bye weeks and injuries , my team is awful this week
