Riding the Jets passing game hard this weekend, with Fitzbeard, Marshall, and Decker all starting. C’mon Bills Defense, have a meltdown!
I’m in three leagues (Dynasty, He Hate Me, land Big League), and somehow I’m facing RNATB in each of them this week. I mean, the odds against that … wow.
Odds that I’d face RNATB, specifically, three time this week: 3,359-1 (0.03%)
Odds that I’d face my Dynasty League opponent in my other two leagues this week: 279-1 (0.36%)
Chance that, at some point this season, I would face the same opponent in all three leagues: <4.9% (it’s only 4.9% if all of my Dynasty league opponents were also potential opponents in both of my other leagues, but of course that’s not the case; same caveat above).
Also, I have the highest projected score I’ve ever had in this league this week (139.58), which, of course, means I’m going to lose (especially since I’m playing … who was it? … that’s right, RNATB, currently the 1-seed to my 2-seed.
I’m interested in theory, but I’m sure the WRs I’m willing to send aren’t ones you’d be willing to take.
In theory, what are my options?

Question for the group, the answer to which I don’t overly care: Can I start Isaiah Crowell in place of Bilal Powell?
Last week, when setting my preliminary Wed rosters, Bilal was listed as Doubtful. I put him in figuring he wasn’t technically out yet. On Friday morning, while checking my team, I saw that Bilal was now listed as Out, but the only other RB I had to replace him with was Isaiah Crowell, but he had played on Thursday so I couldn’t start him. So I just left Bilal in, figuring it didn’t matter.
This week got away from me, and I never set my preliminary roster on Wed. So Bilal Powell, who was Out last week and remains Out this week, was still set as my starter by the time last night’s game kicked off. Obviously I wouldn’t have started him, as he was Out.
Whatever the league decides is fine by me. Losing would actually help me in terms of draft picks, but now is when I start winning games I shouldn’t just to screw with my draft pick. (eg: I won last week despite not starting a full team.)
EDIT: Also of note is that I have both NYJ and BUF defenses. BUF scored 19 to the Jets 8, but I had the Jets starting. I definitely would have started the Jets (who had the higher projection) anyway, so no worries there.
I’ll wait for for others to chime in first. To clarify, though: Ellis literally has no other player aside from Crowell who could start in that RB slot. The only other RB on his roster (aside from Jennings, who’s already starting) is Carlos Hyde, who’s on bye.
Also: Dude, you need some RBs.
This doesn’t sound like a good deal for YOU.
YOU lose a “top-flight WR” for a first round pick next year? Uh…I might trade a promising young guy who hasn’t yet established himself for a first rounder next year. But a top flight guy? I’d want a first rounder next year AND a promising young guy who hasn’t yet established himself to replace him.
Going into this season I had what I felt were four starters. None of them great, but four starters. It turns out I have pretty much no starters, only four warm bodies. But that was the thinking that got me to where I am now.
I could probably sweeten the pot slightly for the person trading the WR away. I’ve got an extra TE for one thing.
And I might be willing to toss in another draft pick.
Also, how can you put a price on history?
With no responses, I’m assuming the answer is “no” to my request to start Isaiah Crowell in the place of Bilal Powell. (Bilal has been out 2 weeks, but I forgot to set lineups on Wed so Bilal ended up starting for me on Thursday.)
To that end, I pulled my second TE out of the W/T spot, moved my W/R receiver into the W/T spot and put Crowell in at W/R.
If it turns out that I can replace Bilal with Isaiah, I would go:
RB: Isaiah Crowell
W/T: Clive Walford
W/R: Jordan Matthews
I have no problem with the replacement since there’s no ambiguity - there’s only one potential replacement, so it would’ve been an obvious/mandatory call.
I don’t have a problem with it either.
Omni still needs to set his roster.
Having Ryan Mathews this year is kind of frustrating. He puts up enough points to be worth starting as a RB2, but he seems to have crazy efficiency numbers, I wish he’d be used more.
I don’t object either.
I don’t object either
Varlos, if I beat you with Foles you have to commit hara kiri.
I’m sharpening my blade and finding as second. Yahoo says we’re 50/50 right now, but Hopkins & Edelman are gonna light it up. I have seen it.
It would be nice if Cobb could score a garbage time TD right here, though.
Yeah I thought I would be up by more considering how little your team did in the first half of the early games. Still, I’ll take my remaining two over yours pretty much any day.
