I’m going to be away from the PC for awhile, so don’t expect the next pick until after 6. I have a good idea who I’m going to take, but perhaps a trade will happen.
Good pick. I really struggled between him and Hunter. I think the Crabtree injury is a double-edged sword with him. On one side he will see plenty of playing time, but on the other he won’t be facing a nickelback like he would otherwise.
I would have drafted Hunter. After you picked him I was all set to draft Markus Wheaton. I didn’t realize he was drafted a long time ago until right before I submitted it.
Patton was just last minute research.
If Patton had played at a big name school he’d have been one of the top WR (1-3) in the draft.
All right! The food court at the Borgata has working wifi. Nice to be on a big screen again. While I’m here I updated the draft results page on Yahoo.
Can’t believe I’m almost up again. Gonna have to do some research.
Ok, I’m off to play poker for 3.5 hours. See some of you at the Auction League draft at 9.
OK, it’s flier time.
3.6) Andre Ellington (ARI, RB)
Jealous.
Gah. All my guys are gone. I really thought Patton would still be available for me.
Look on the bright side. At least there’s still a virulent racist available.
I’ll make my pick (probably) before the Auction draft. Preliminary research here at the table makes me fear I must do something unspeakably shameful with this pick…
But Geno Smith is already off the board…
I kid because I love, Ellis!
This is quite a weak draft.
That’s how I actually feel about the Smith pick. It was unspeakably shameful.
I wanted to ignore him and just carry a hole at QB during Eli’s bye then try to snag a real QB next draft should I happen to have a high draft pick. (Ha!) I figure with 2 first rounders I could probably trade into the #1 overall pick in a pinch.
However, it felt like sandbagging to leave a hole at QB for a game. Sucky or not, one thing I am not is a sandbagger.
What decided it for me was that I was pretty sure Smith would be gone by my next pick, while my actual target might still be around for it. It doesn’t reduce the utter sucktitude of the Smith pick, though.
Jeff Tuel is still available too.
Oh! Phew. I just assumed this guy had been picked already, saves me the embarrassment of committing the Unspeakably Shameful Act. He’s another guy I almost took with my 2nd Rounder.
**With the 7th pick in the 3rd Round, Varlos’ Zzzzzzzz select:
Zach Ertz, TE, Phi**
I’m really surprised he was still on the board, but I guess not a lot of people are really hurting for young TEs (whereas my TE situation was counterfeited by the Bengals taking a TE to “complement” Jermaine Gresham).
Anyway, I’m a lot happier to spend the 31st pick on Ertz than I would be to spend the 9th pick on Eifert, so for once I’m really satisfied with my selection.
**Omni **is on the clock.
I’m surprised how difficult of a pick this is turning out to be.
Need to stew on it a little bit. Will pick soon.
OK, going to go with the safer pick.
Aaron Dobson, WR, NE
And another player of mine gets injured before the real games even begin. Percy Harvin and DuJuan Harris, say hello to Andre Brown. Fuck me.
3.10 Denard Robinson, Offensive Weapon, Jacksonville
drops mic, leaves room
Hey, good pick. He’s like Matt Jones (remember him?), except he was selected in the 5th Round instead of the 1st, so the team has no incentive to keep giving him chances.
