SDMB FF Dynasty League: Year Five

After just one game the Pryor pick actually looks halfway decent.

Shit. I was up by like 50 points, thought I was golden … but I forgot I was playing the Fanboys, which can make up deficit in a flash when Eli Manning throws for 450 yards and throws 3 TDs to Victor Cruz. NOT FAIR.

hehheh.

Though man, my David Wilson train just derailed like that scene in The Fugitive.

Vengeance is mine!

Time to get nervous, Beef.

Well, you surprised by having the privilege of losing with the 2nd best score this week.

Crushed every motherfucker except the one that counts. grumble

So, I have many, many wide receivers people might want but I’m short on running backs. Anyone need receivers? Make me an offer.

My 175.85 points would’ve been the third most points scored in any game last year. Of course this year it’ll be like my 10th highest scoring game by the end of the year.

I didn’t have any especially freakish scores either. Demaryius Thomas was the top scorer with 30 points.

Jordan Cameron came out strong. Glad I picked him up at the end of the last year for free, he’d have been worth a first round draft pick this year. When Gronk gets back in a couple of weeks, depending on how Cameron does, I may end up having to go 2 TEs again this year. Maybe Cameron is the next Graham. … No, he won’t be, but I think he’ll be top 5, with a decent shot of being the third best TE. Still, I’m open to trading him if anyone wants him. I can still use Finley to plug in until Gronk gets back. Or I can trade Finley, he also put up 14 points. Whatever. Come to me for TEs.

McCoy seems like he’s going to benefit greatly from the Eagle’s offensive resurgence. I was starting to think his dynasty value may not be as great as I thought it was - but combined with the fact that he’s only 25, the unquestioned #1 in a talented offense, has never had crazy 350 carry numbers to wear him down, I’m starting to think that he’s actually probably one of the top 5 or 7 most valuable players in the league, and that some people named VarlosZ should probably recognize that.

So I looked at the updated projections today. I’m projected to go 14-0. I doubt that’ll happen, but it’s not out of the question. Hamlet is second at 13-1. Interestingly, while Stringer’s projections after draft day put him at a nice 11-3, the current projections are for him to finish 9-5. How disappointing that would be. Hamlet and I would be the clear top 2.

You and everyone else. Decent RBs feel like they’re in short supply this year.

In another league, I had to choose between Spiller and McCoy. I decided to go with Spiller. Now I’m thinking I may regret that.

RGIII is a huge problem for me. When he’s not running, he’s nowhere near as valuable a QB, and so far this year, he’s not running. Most of his yardage and both his TD’s this week came in garbage time, and before that he was putrid. I only watched a couple games last year, and it was evident that for all the press, he wasn’t nearly the passer that Luck was, and nothing I saw week one changed that impression.

Here’s hoping it was rust, or the injury, or game plan, but he could be a huge problem on my team, especially after I traded away Stafford last year.

That’s because Hamlet has all of them. It wouldn’t be so bad for me except that I thought Giovani Bernard would be in a 50/50 timeshare from the start, and he isn’t. It can’t take too long considering The Law Firm had something like 20 yards on 15 carries, but still.

No kidding. Shane Vereen had a big Week 1, and I had about 36 hours to enjoy the idea that maybe Steven Ridley will stay in Belichick’s doghouse and maybe I’ll actually have two starting-caliber RBs for the first time in over four years. But no: wrist surgery, PUP list, out at least six weeks. FML.

Unless an injury happens to Arian Foster, Reggie Bush, or Alfred Morris, I’ve got problems.

Broke 100 points from just the first half of the early games.

Gronkowski, Cameron, Finley - any of them are up for grabs. Available as part of a package too. I’d package something like Gronk/Cameron + Darryl Richardson/Ryan Mathews for a top tier RB, or Gronk/Cameron + Jordy Nelson/James Jones for a top tier WR.

What can I have for Reggie Bush?

Joique Bell?

I’ll give it some thought. As you can tell from my team, though, I tend to be extremely youth oriented. But Bush would make a pretty cool flex starter.

Stringer scored the highest points this week by just a touch (Stringer, Hamlet and I were the top 3 separated by 6 points total), but looking at the yahoo projections, but he’s still projected with an 8-6 season. It seems to project him as the 5th seed and out of the playoffs, but he scores more than Omni, who’s given the #4 seed due to a better division finish. But for wildcard, points is the tiebreaker, right? I don’t think their projections seed correctly. But they’re certainly down on Stringer’s team.

The projections not only put me at an undefeated season, but they project me to score the highest point total this league has ever seen. God help you all if that happens.

Looking ahead, week 4 is going to be a dangerous one for me, with the Green Bay offense on bye, but I still shuffled my roster to get a 13 point projected lead. The next week after that, though, I manage to be projected to score 150 points. I’m not sure that’s ever happened in the league.

How about Gronk/Richardson?
