Wow, I totally missed that. I’ll enter that now.
You can still dump him if you want. Let me know within the next few hours.

I think I’m going to keep him. I very much doubt a 5th rounder in this draft would give me more bang for the buck. Even compared to Blaine Gabbert.
I’m much happier to have Ponder than Gabbert of the two. Hell, I might end up drafting EJ Manuel and selling my team to an FSU homer.
Come on, Ellis.
By the way, you guys do realize the implications of having the Brees <–> White+2nd Rounder trade be numerically unbalanced, right?
As we discussed earlier in the thread, each team has to leave the draft with exactly 25 players. So, **dale **picks up the 6th pick in Round 2 in the trade, but because he took on 2 players in exchange for one he has to forfeit the 3rd pick in Round 3 (his last) to make room, which makes that 2nd Rounder not nearly as valuable.
Meanwhile, **Justin **has to take on an additional pick to get up to 25, but since it wasn’t specified that dale’s lost 3rd Rounder goes to him, the 3.3 pick gets Justin’s name put on it and a nonsense player entered as a keeper for that pick, and then after the draft **Justin **will have to drop the placeholder.
This is why I encouraged everyone to make all trades involving draft picks numerically balanced. As it is, that 3.3 pick – a pretty valuable resource – is just going to waste. I assume that wasn’t the idea. (Sorry, I don’t mean to scold, but this the reason we have complicated, borderline-snippy debates about these things topics before the draft starts. :))
Anyway, since we’re still getting the hang of things and the clock hasn’t started, if you guy’s want to quickly amend the trade that’s ok with me. I’d suggest **dale **find one more cut, then specify that his 4th Round pick goes to Justin. Or you could change it so that **Justin **sends his 1st Round pick in the trade and gets dale’s 2nd in return, or something.
If you’re interested, sort it out amongst yourselves, preferably today.
It’s a 2014 2nd-rounder. Presumably he thinks he’ll be making a lot of cuts next year.
The draft pick is for the 2014 draft. For this season , it is just a one for one player swap. I’ll make enough cuts for next season to make sure I have enough room for the added pick.
Oh, wow, totally missed that again.
Well, much of what I said still applies. Do you guys want to stipulate that **Justin **gets dale’s 10th Rounder (or whatever) next year?
Right. The 2014 cuts will be where this pick is worked out. We’re good for this draft.
You should be able to get a list of officially available players through the league now by searching for all available players. If anyone happens to want to make a list of cut players sorted by position that was helpful last year but not necessary.

Thanks.
Its sad how many of those guys came from my roster either this year or last year
I was under the impression that we would draft after the 3rd week’s games, ie: Monday. My bad. I’m woefully unprepared to make my first pick; expect it sometime tomorrow afternoon at the earliest.
Actually, scratch that; I’m 99% on who I’m taking #1 overall. (Wasn’t a hard decision.)
I’m wondering if we want to wait for the 3rd preseason game, though. If so, we could schedule a pseudo-live draft that Tuesday before kickoff for an hour where everyone with picks left would be on the dope (as opposed to on yahoo) for an in-thread live draft to finish off all the picks. My estimate is the first two rounds and much of the 3rd would be done by then anyway.
Any interest? If not, I’m pretty confident in my #1 pick and am fine starting us off. Let me know.
I’m good either way, but I can see where doing it after this weeks games would be helpful. Everyone may have additional drops due to roster decisions and injuries.
I would rather we went ahead and started. Unless you’re taking Nope, still not telling.
Since we have fewer picks this year, starting after the third preseason game is probably fine. I’m cool either way. Edit: I don’t know if we’re allowing additional drops after this point though, I assumed we had a hard deadline.
I was going to say that allowing additional drops is the only reason this is meaningful, but then I thought of this catch:
If a big name RB or QB gets hurt on Saturday night and that player’s backup suddenly becomes a must-have it could greatly benefit a person drafting in the middle of the 3rd round if we just happen to be at the point when it’s announced.
Week 3 of the preseason is when the most starters play and has the most risk for season changing injury. Its also when the depth charts really take shape. While I don’t want to slow things down unnecessarily, it seems like a bad idea to have a draft occurring during a time that could span these games. We should probably start and finish before it begins or start after it ends.
There is no MNF this week and Sunday night is good for me; if you guys want to wait until after the 3rd week I’d be happy to commit to posting the first overall pick to the thread at midnight ET Sunday night.
I have no problem with that. Since RNATB drafts all by himself the last few rounds he could posts 6.1 - 9.1 in one post (if he chooses).
