Did somebody PM Ellis?
Bastard!
Did somebody PM Ellis?
Bastard!
Ellis told me he’d be around mid afternoon at the earliest, so there will be a bit of a pause.
I did.
I’m going to be gone for the next few hours, but I’m still willing to part with my 2nd rounder next year as well as this year (we’d swap second rounders this year, you’d get my 2nd next year) if my target is still there when you’re up. Can’t say who my target is obviously, but if you’re interested in that deal, send me a PM.
Same offer for me, but 2 picks earlier. HA!
Same here, but even earlier.
As long as we are playing the Price is Right game.
Curse you Bob Barker!!!
Alright, fine, I’m gonna have to win this bidding war.
I have an agreement with Ellis Dee to trade his 2.01 pick and 2014 third rounder in exchange for my 2.10 pick and 2014 first rounder.
I’ll let him announce it when he’s back just to confirm. I sent him my pick in PM.
This may be one of those overbuying the hype/outsmarting myself sorts of picks, but I’m gambling that I’ll have one of the last picks in the first round next year and I’m not giving away too much. Hopefully.
Unfortunately, Bob Barker is already cursed to walk this earth for all eternity surrounded by his beauties.

I don’t even know what I’m going to do with all those receivers. I made a somewhat bold move for a guy I didn’t even really need. Trading up for a UDFA WR rookie. But I’m buying the hype. The guy looks polished, grasped the offense very quickly, is a very good technician, and seems to have instant chemistry with Brady. That’s the sort of guy who springs out of nowhere in New England and becomes a star. Although there are a lot of mouths to feed in that offense, if Thompkins keeps getting open, he’ll keep getting the ball. I’m hoping for something like 70/900/6 this year.
But I keep taking on WRs. I’m not as stacked as Varlos was, and I lack definite studs outside of Thomas, but I’ve got a whole lot of pretty good guys with high upside. Josh Gordon, Jordy Nelson, James Jones, Lance Moore is kind of sneaky in that no one cares about him but he puts up 1000 yards every season, Stephen Hill is a long term boom or bust guy, and Thompkins may make a decent WR2 option. That’s a lot of pretty decent guys fighting over a couple of WRs slots.
I’d definitely trade any 2 of them for a stud WR, if anyone wants to make a deal like that.
My trade with Ellis revolves entirely around our finishes next year. If we finish in the same relative positions, my cost is relatively minor. If I falter and have a bad year, the cost becomes pretty huge.
Oh, right, and Cordarelle Patterson. Another Stephen Hill boom or bust type.
I agree with you on Thompkins, and he was someone I had my eyes on once he signed, but unfortunately he became a hip sleeper I knew I’d have to make a move.
I was angling to get Latimore from the day he announced for the draft. At first I figured I could snag him in the 2nd round, but once I saw that RBs, even ones probably who weren’t going to see a whole lot of the field were going, I knew I needed to make a move.
It doesn’t hurt that I am a Niners fan, so he had that going for him also.
I’m here.
EJ Manuel, QB, Buf. I hate FSU but I have both their NFL quarterbacks. Go figure.
PMing dale now.
Son of a bitch. I’ve got Brees now, but I was hoping to pick up Manuel in the second round.
I’m trading Jay Cutler for dale’s pick, he can post to confirm:
Markus Wheaton, WR, PIT
Trade to announce.
Warner’s Brothers (dalej42) trades the 2nd round pick to
We Do HGH for QB Jay Cutler
I love having Cam but I’m not going into the season with only Foles as a backup.
My call was between Kenbrell Thompkins and the guy I drafted, Keenan Allen. I ended up deciding that college production and perceived talent was more important than preseason hype in a share the ball offense and a bum knee. I just couldn’t imagine that the Pats would give up on Dobson and Boyce so quickly so as to make Thompkins, a guy who has never had more than 500 yard receiving in a year at Cincinnati, into a heretofore unheard of talent that will make him a #1 WR, rather than a nice middlin’ possession receiver. I think Allen has higher upside, and Kenbrell is much more a placeholder for a bit.
But, as with all things fantasy football, we will see.
A couple quick questions. DuJuan Harris has been placed on IR today. Can I put him there in the league and pick up a draft pick (it would be a 4th rounder) while we’re doing the draft, or am I just fucked and have to wait until add/drop opens (the holding the draft until after the 3rd game was, I thought, to deal with injury situations). Also, Percy Harvin has been placed on the PUP list, so he’s out at least the first 6 games. Am I allowed to put him on the IR, and have another roster spot to draft or pick up? I know we can IR guys who are actually on the IR (or IR designated to return), but I don’t know if we ever decided about the PUP list.
Gotta love being down two players before the season even starts. I feel like the Green Bay Packers.
I would have given you much more for Cutler.
