Sorry for the late response but walk me through this. I cut 4 players. I essentially trade Jimmy Graham for Trent Richardson. But he gets 1 of my cut slots so I only get 3 draft picks in my natural slot. Right? But if we were to just trade player for player is retain my pick. So I’m not sure in should lose a pick. But I may be missing something.
Maybe dumb question but will dale end up with 26 on his roster and me with 24? Don’t have time to count.
I wouldn’t sweat it. I assume Varlos is making changes to the draft board manually, and since we’ve got the correct number of picks listed earlier in the thread, we’ll know that you get a 4th round pick and Varlos will manually adjust the draft board on Yahoo so everything’s correct.
Also, everybody stop picking RBs. I was hoping for Hillman or Turbin to drop to my spot in round 2, but that didn’t happen.
I still don’t get why I cut 6 players yet only have 4 picks. Feels like I missed something important here.
You probably had some IR players? Murray and Clark?
Technically you are missing something, but in fact, taking a second hard pass at this, it’s something that I missed. It’s not that you had four picks to make and then somehow the trade happened and you only had three: you only had three picks to begin with. I miscounted the number of players on your season-ending roster when I ran the numbers for section 5) in this post; I simply miscounted to 25, but it was actually 26 because one of your guys was on IR (as **Stringer *has correctly surmised, I see on edit). 26 players minus 4 cuts equals 22 keepers, leaving three draft picks (all teams must exit the draft with exactly 25). So your listed number of picks in the linked post above was in error, but because I later built the draft on the Yahoo site simply by adding all the players you didn’t cut, it was right from the start.
Omni’s answer is the same, of course, but fortunately that’s not a mistake on my part, just a note that he missed.
I’m a dope.
Aha. Who was my player on IR last year? Can’t see 2011 on my tab for some reason.
Wish I’d have noticed. I’d have cut an extra player - I wanted 4 picks.
Knox probably.
AFAICT, Yahoo doesn’t give us any hint as to which player or players were on your team’s IR.
Eh, it was my mistake, and I see 2 or 3 keepers of yours about whom no one is gonna be mad because they missed a chance to spend a 2nd Rounder on the guy. Run the name by me first (I’m going to bed now), but if you want to take a late cut and get your 4.12 pick back, I think that would be ok so long I agree the name isn’t going to cause anyone to feel they missed a chance at drafting and there isn’t substantial objection to the idea. We’ll see where we stand tomorrow after I’ve gotten some sleep.
Oh, and I sent a PM to **Ellis **just now, in case he didn’t already get one.
Wow, I was thinking he’d slide down to the 5th, but he’s currently ranked #3 overall in yahoo’s projections so I guess I have to pull the trigger on a starting (albeit crappy) TE:
Martellus Bennett, TE, NYG
I’m happy I resisted the urge to take Randle last round even though I think he’ll get lots of looks this season, but I’ve been hankering for some Bennett.
I think I’m up. Looking at my sorry state of TEs I pick:
Jacob Tamme, TE, Den
Recap:
Has anyone heard from furt?

It’s my own fault, had I remembered about the IR slot I would have cut more players. But like I said Varlosz shouldn’t be expected to hold my hand throughout the process.
That’s my pick, not Beef’s. I think someone copied the second round order when they were doing a recap of the third round, because I traded my second round pick to him.
You and me both.
Sorry, you’re right. Corrected draft board…

Trades
That’s fine if I’m short a pick. Something to remember next time.
Yeah the only reason I figured out the IR thing is because I thought I had far more picks.
