SDMB FF Dynasty League: Year Four

Yeah maybe you hit this year’s top score but doubtful.

Aw, they’re taking their foot off the gas.

I’m going to have to take out Greg Jenning’s knees Tonya Harding style to keep this going.

Looks like 0-5 Retrovertigo is going to upset 5-0 Stringer’s chance at a perfect season.

I am just glad I lost legit and not because of bad sit/start decisions. I tip my hat to 63 points from the Green(e)s.

My brief resurgence is over.

**Hamlet **is still alive in my game (needs 50 combined points from Rivers and Decker tonight), but most likely I’m gonna wind up at 4-2 despite still starting über-dregs at RB (basically it’s like having 1.5 empty slots every week).

I am actively fishing for a trade partner, but if anyone wants to send me an offer I don’t need to get some RB who figures to be a dynasty stud for several years going forward. I’ll sell off some future for a guy who’s marginally useful this year but clearly at the end of his rope – a Cedric Benson type (you know, before he got hurt).
Regarding the other thing: I can’t put into words how much I don’t feel like arguing about special teams scoring right now, so I’m not gonna. Please, everyone remind me next summer if I forget, and we’ll have a nice discussion about it.

Vincent Jackson is an unstoppable force.

Michael Turner’s owner on Line 1.

I still don’t regret that trade, but it was definitely a long term proposition.

Yeah, I still think Ryan Williams might hit it big, but for now, VJax is usually the make-or-break player on my team every week. When he performs, I win. If he don’t, I lose.

Wasn’t able to set the season scoring record, but I’ve scored the #2 and #3 scores for the season back to back, that’s something. 330 points.

Stringer and I are both now 5-1 and he’s only 15 points ahead of me for the year.

There are bye weeks and there are bye weeks… and this week, basically my entire team is on one. Michael Turner, DeSean Jackson, Robert Meachem and Reggie Bush. Oh, and the Iggles and 'phins defenses.

Varlos’ Zzzzzzz sends WR Dez Bryant to Petey’s Isotopes for RB Doug Martin.
A very logical trade here, really. My excess WR situation is (I think) pretty well known by now, especially with Kenny Britt coming back online. Meanwhile, **Petey **had four good RB starters in Martin, Ahmad Bradshaw, Darren McFadden, and Steven Ridley – so one of them was going to waste every week – along with three fine starting WRs, but absolutely nothing behind them (and only 5 total WRs on the roster).
Anyway, since my RB situation remains one of the worst in the league, I’m probably still in the market for, if nothing else, an end-of-the-line veteran back. Still have one offer out, and I’ll take a look at Michael Turner (not sure what you’re looking to get in return).

I liked that trade a lot when I saw it, nice work on both sides.

Me too. I kept looking at it, thinking, “I would have given you so much more for…” and then realizing I wouldn’t.

It’s actually remarkable how even the trade is from an objective standpoint. They’re both 23 year old late-1st Round picks, currently ranked 79th and 80th by Yahoo (Bryant’s producing about 3 more points per game, but Martin of course is a RB).

In truth, even aside from the fact that this trade adresses a major weakness on my roster (both short and long term), I’m very happy with it for the simple reason that I’m not as high on Bryant as most people – a valuable asset to be sure, but my gut says he’s unlikely ever to be more than a WR2-type for fantasy purposes, and there are still some lingering character/flameout issues. (Again, though, that’s a minority opinion, and I’m sure the consensus opinion would be that if anyone got an edge in the trade it was Petey.) Maybe that’s part of why my Megatron/McCoy negotiations with **Beef **lasted for 14 months and amounted to nothing; in the back of my mind I was loathe to give up the WR I loved when I had a really valuable chit that I was only luke-warm on.

Fucking Philip Rivers. The Broncos crappy defense puts up 32 points in the second quarter last night to beat me. All the while, scoring in ways that keeps Hillman off the field entirely. What shit. Screw you San Diego!

Bring your best and I’ll still crush it!
.. except this week.

Bye weeks move my W/R squad from:

Richardson, McCoy, Mathews, Nelson, Thomas, Jones, to
Richardson, Richardson (Daryl! The good one!), Nelson, Jones, Gordon, Hill. And Trent Richardson is hurt, so who even knows if he’ll play. Ugh.

If I’d caught Stringer next week instead, I’d be at full strength and he’d be down Foster and Rice.

Gah!

At 9:30pm on Thursday I remembered that I’d forgotten to set my fantasy lineup. Oh well, what are ya gonna do, right? Since it was too late already I ignored it until just now when I set it for real. Turns out Mario Manningham had been in the starting lineup and was out for the Thursday game, so that’s a dead spot for me.

I feel bad in that despite being a bad team I don’t like to be an inactive team. Big difference, that. Of course, the guy I would have started just now if Manningham weren’t in that slot would be my new acquisition, Darius Reynaud, who is projected to earn all of 5.51 points. Oofa.

I had the exact same thing happen in one of my ESPN leagues. I really don’t like these Thursday games, lousy football, and screws up fantasy and pick em.

Anotehr 3 Rodgers to Nelson TDs and I may have a chance.

I’m not complaining.
