Ah, didn’t even check the actual rosters, just saw the trade pending. Next year just flip it to commish approval - works fine in other leagues, it’s not like the SDMB leagues ever see any collusion, or for that matter, ever vote to void bad trades for any reason.
Fuck my life, I woke up at like 9:35 and I didn’t have any of my fantasy stuff set, nor the pick em leagues etc. So I rushed through to get everything done without giving much thought to anything - mostly using the projected points.
James Fucking Jones has been low on production the last few weeks because there were too many mouths to feed, so I sat him. Davone Bess had actually been on a good run with many weeks of 10+ point games, and he usually does well against New England, so I followed the projection and played him. Yet… I picked Josh Gordon in the yardage league because I knew he’d have a big day, but I didn’t put him in that WR slot. Mostly because I did my yardage picks at like 9:58 and didn’t really have time to think about it by then, but by then it was too late.
Naturally, I lost by less than a point.
My optimal roster was 176.90 points this week. I think if I’d have woken up 20 minutes earlier, I’d have time to have made better decisions.
Blah, blah, blah. I’ve got my signature win. Hah!
This was a bittersweet week for me, as I dumped Mason Crosby, who’s been the heart and sole of my team since helping me to the inaugural title as a rookie.
Final week. Top two seeds are practically clinched for Stringer and I, whoever wins Northeast Corridor gets the #3 seed.
Bailey and Furt actually play the last week, winner gets their division. Hamlet has the score tiebreaker with either of them, so if he wins, he’s going to take the wildcard and boot out whoever loses that game. If he loses, the loser of that game gets the wildcard.
That’s all well and good, but I’m only in second place, trailing by 24 points, in the most points against race. I suppose the “win and in” is nice and all, but I’m also gunning for that points against title.
How intriguing that the guy who can keep me out of the playoffs is none other than Bear fan/rival Omni (who put up 162+ this week, gulp). I’m going into this game fully expecting a tragic turn of events.
Just noticed that I scored exactly the same amount in my Week 2 loss to Beef (110.25) as I did in beating him this week. Weird.
You lucked out, if I had made basically any roster move I win that game. It’s weird because I’ve been in a cycle of being unable to sleep more than 4 hours at a time for a few weeks, then suddenly saturday night I sleep for like 12 hours straight and barely wake up in time for the games.
Actually, if **Hamlet **loses and **furt **loses, I take the wildcard (assuming a win against the Fanboys, of course) since I’m leading **furt **by almost 200 in points scored. If **Hamlet **loses and Justin Bailey loses, then I need to outscore the latter by at least 9.7 points.
It could happen, though of course the path of least resistance for me was to for **Hamlet **to lose to Stringer’s powerful team last week.
Huh, not sure how I missed that. Interesting week then.

A relatively quiet year for trades in this league, particularly after the draft. (I’m not missing any, right?) OTOH, there’s not a lot of flotsam here: at least three of the trades have the potential to be hugely consequential, and I’m honestly not sure which is the “biggest.”
I’ll go back and do a Trade Log for last year, which I never got around to. I’ll also try to find the time for another Waiver-Wire Rundown, but no promises on that one (as always, others should feel free to do it themselves if they feel like it).
Looking forward to it!
The Year Three Trade Log is up. I posted it to last year’s thread, but for clarity let’s keep any discussion in this thread.
Year Three Trade Log:
My run of injuries is starting to get worrisome. Gronk, Nelson, and McCoy are not looking good for the playoffs.
Holy fucking christ. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
I remember losing a playoff game to Beef because his defense put up 30 points. It’s not 46 points, but I feel your pain.
Ironically, I once lost a season-deciding fantasy game when Eli Manning threw something like three pick-sixes to the Seahawks.
Seattle defense hates fantasy football.
Steven Gostkowski and Andre Johnson. Unless Gostkowski scores 5 more points than Andre Johnson does tonight, the Fighting Quakers will get the win and the NE Corridor Division Championship. I suppose it is possible for a kicker to outscore the #1 WR on a run first team by 5 points, but it would be something to see. That Seattle defense scoring 47 (adjustment?) is just one of the butt ugly kicks in the balls that will make you hate fantasy football for an entire off season. Ouch.
Meanwhile, it looks like Stringer, SenorBeef, and I have assured our playoff spots (unless Welker can score 88 fantasy points tonight) with wins this weekend. But, for tonight, it’s all about Gostkowski and Johnson. And the seething hatred for Seattle defense that I can feel emanating off of Justin Bailey.
I am going to pick up another pointless win. I’m like the Buffalo Bills of fantasy football: I do just enough at the end to make you think I might be competitive next time.
Looking forward to that #2 pick, anyway. Come to me, Montee Ball.
Total seething hatred. I suppose I’ll have to take CONSOLATION in the 5th overall pick next year. That’s right, I said it!
