SDMB FF Dynasty League: Year Four

Pick #11

Kendall Wright WR TEN

As a Bears fan I really would have preferred Jeffery but I’ll settle for Wright.
SenorBeef is on the clock.

Good choice.

The 3 guys I wanted just went 3 ahead of me.

I actually want Fleener but that’d kind of be silly.

Isaiah Peade RB STL

Someone PM omni please.

I’ll do it.

Wait wait, it’s not Omni. dale’s up.

(PMs have been sent to that effect.)

Recap:
1.1 – Exploding Pancakes – Trent Richardson, RB, Cleveland
1.2 – Ides of Martz – Andrew Luck, RB, Indianapolis
1.3 – CuteWiddleBunny – Robert Griffin III, QB, Washington
1.4 – New York Fanboys – David Wilson, RB, NY Giants
1.5 – Isotopes – Doug Martin, RB, Tampa Bay
1.6 – Fightin’ Quakers – Russell Wilson, QB, Seattle
1.7 – Nine Inch Neils (RNATB) - Justin Blackmon, WR, Jax (traded to Varlos)
1.8 – Varlos’ Zzzzzzz - Michael Floyd, WR, Arizona
1.9 – RetroVertigo - Brian Quick WR, St. Louis
1.10 – The Gusterrhoids - Alshon Jeffery, WR, Chicago
1.11 – We Do HGH - Kendall Wright, RB, Tennessee
1.12 – Exploding Pancakes - Isaiah Pead, RB, St. Louis

Almost jumped in and made the pick here. Maybe dale will spare me some grief by making my decision easier.

Wait, is this a serpentine draft or do we keep the same spots throughout?

Not serpentine.

Kendall Wright is a WR, not a RB, yes?

EDIT: I’m logging for the day to get some sleep. Expect my next pick around midnight-ish eastern if I go on the clock.

Yeah, he’s a wideout.

Yup, carelessness on my part. Had it right before the browser crashed and in the scramble to delete my pick after seeing the note abut dale I didn’t proofread. That said, the browser crash spared me from posting my pick before dale, so that was lucky.

I like the Peade (Pead ?) choice. He will get his touches behind Jackson, as they will try to lighten bus load. The problem is Jackson is such a good pass catcher that he really doesn’t need a 3rd down back.

Jackson is 29, with six 250+ carry seasons under his belt, including three 300+ carry seasons. He’s also only started 16 games twice. Counting receptions, he’s got over 2500 career touches. That’s over 500 more than Frank Gore, and Gore’s career is being fitted for a coffin. In fairness, it’s only two thirds of LaDanian Tomlinson’s career touches, but it’s worth noting that 2,500 touches is almost exactly the point where his statistics nosedived.

Even if Peade doesn’t get much action this year, his time will be coming sooner rather than later.

It’s Pead, guys.

I think it’s open to debate.

I was debating Wright vs Pead so it didn’t surprise me to see him go right after.

Are you trying to get me peade off?

Better to be peade off than peade on.

I hate you guys.

Who peade in your Cheerios this morning?

Woops. I went to omni after my traded first pick. Brain fart.

I didn’t really want Pead BTW but I figured some appealing WR would be there but there was a run.
