Go figure. The 17 points the Eagles D scored would have turned my loss into a win. Not that it really matters, neither of us are close to the playoffs. But this has been a really disappointing season on so many levels.
I can’t remember a year with this little at stake headed into the final 2 weeks. Beef and Petey have Sunbelt locked up in some order (doesn’t matter since 1 plays 4 anyway), I have clinched Midwest (5th playoff appearance in 6 years), leaving the NFC South (er…Northeast) to fight over the last spot.
Trade deadline is Friday, I’m still looking to add a piece for the playoffs. My first round pick and CJ Spiller (2015 Free Agent) are a possible package.
I just can’t believe it. I think these two entries from the Game Recap say it all about this week and my entire season…
-
The Gusterrhoids scored 146.90 points and lost. It is the highest losing score in the league this season.
-
Three of the six losses for The Gusterrhoids this season have come when their opponent had their highest-scoring week of the season.
The points title is up for grabs. It’s not officially meaningful but I think it’s an important and fun distinction.
I think I can still mathematically take thw WC with two wins and two Beef losses, but he’d need to score almost zero.
37% chance of that at least.
I think we should all root for the 6-8, 6-8, 6-8 possible finish for Northeast.
I agree.
I waiver back and forth between liking divisions and not in dynasty. For redraft, I am staunchly against divisions because all it does is add more luck (of which there is already plenty in fantasy football.) For dynasty, I like competing against the same teams every year, since it gives more the feel of a real sports league.
A little bummed out to see that I’m still seeded behind VarlosZ despite 1) winning the head to head matchup against him, and 2) having a better divisional record.
Looks like in terms of division standings, the first (and only) tiebreaker is total fantasy points. Which means I never had a chance to win the division. Ah well.
Division record is the first tiebreaker for taking the division/getting the division seed. It probably applies the general (wildcard) seed if you’re not a division leader, but if you were tied with the other division leader in wins, then your division record becomes the tiebreaker.
Oh, in that case, I’m still alive! Woot!
After setting my starters this week VarlosZ is a scant 52% favorite, though he may not have set his starters yet.
Clerical issue with yahoo. Mallett is on IR, but yahoo hasn’t reflected that yet. I dropped Marvin Jones off my IR (cut) in order to make room for him before I figured that out. I need to drop someone to make the space I should have from putting Mallett on IR to make a waiver. I think this situation or something like that happened before but I can’t remember what the results were.
Anyway, I was wondering if I could have Mallett placed on my IR after I have to drop him to overcome this issue. If not, no big deal, but it seems shitty to lose that chance because yahoo was slow to update his IR status.
It’s not Yahoo’s fault, Mallett is not yet on real IR (http://www.nfl.com/transactions).
Sure, fine by me, anyway.
Edit: Oh, well then maybe not.
Nm then on the request. Yahoo is slow to recognize real IR sometimes, I thought that was the case here.
So, I forgot how early the games start on Thanksgiving and was late for my roster check. I had Reggie Bush slotted in at RB, but he’s inactive. Am I able to sit him and put in Doug Martin? Normally one couldn’t do that, of course, but normally there’d a bunch of games starting at the same time. In this case, I don’t have anyone from Detroit or Chicago who I could have started in his place, so obviously, if I’d gotten to my roster check in time, I would have sat Bush and there’s no theoretical chance my decision on who start in his place could be influenced by what’s happened in the games so far.
So, yeah, I’m looking for input, especially but not exclusively from Ellis, my opponent.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
C’mon guys…
I’m okay with it. One of the advantages of running a communicative, friendly league is to be able to handle stuff like this, and not just robotically adhere to the rules as one would in a public league. There’s no room for corruption in this case anyway as far as I can see.
I’m ok with it too.
Stringer, do I have anyone you’d be interested in for a first round pick next year? I’ve already traded mine away for next year.
I’d move one of my non-starter WRs and maybe RBs for a top tier defense. I’ll take a look around later for a good fit.
Is there a top tier defense in fantasy football this year? I guess Arizona maybe?
To elaborate on my post…
I don’t really have a problem with this league being accommodating about situations like Varlos has. But I don’t see any difference between this scenario and Hamlet’s DST scenario last week. If we are going to allow people to retroactively correct a lineup mistake, it’s a really slippery slope. Why would Varlos get a break and Hamlet didn’t?
Maybe with rosters this deep we should allow one retroactive lineup change per week per team starting next year…that would actually kind of be interesting to me.
