SDMB FF Dynasty League: Year Six

I’m discussing a possible trade with Ellis Dee, things should move quickly once we’ve made a decision. I have my draft board ready to go .

If you’re interested in Cam Newton, message me. He’s going fairly cheaply

Well, that first pick allows me to take who I wanted first without feeling bad about passing up on one of the top two WRs. Thanks much, furt! I originally wanted Hyde over Sankey anyway.

New York Fanboys take:

Carlos Hyde (RB-SF)

Recap only because this is a new page:

1.01 Bishop Sankey (RB-Ten) furt
1.02 Carlos Hyde (RB-SF) Ellis

dalej42 is on the clock, attempting to send him a PM but the board keeps hanging when I send it.

dale, I just sent you two PMs; did you get both of them? The board is behaving very erratically every time I try to send one, and I want to make sure they’re going through.

Thanks.

Wow, WRs slipping.

Presumably **dale **already knows he’s up. Do be sure to send an email to **RetroVertigo **after you pick.

Ooops, looks like the board hung for me but sent them anyway; apologies for the duplicate PMs, dale.

I can’t begin to tell you how anxious this board performance issue is making me.

Not your fault, we’ll get it all worked out. The PMs are going through, right? No e-mail notifications, but there are board notifications.

I assume. I sent dale a pm and I’m not sure if he got it.

Just an FYI:

My pick was delayed because I’m on a night schedule. (Similar to our inaugural year when I slept through and didn’t prerank, so yahoo autodrafted me Brian Westbrook in the first instead of my intended pick, Aaron Rodgers. Doh!)

Figure my online hours for the duration of the draft will be roughly 8pm to 10am Eastern. This may “roll over” to later for both, something like midnight to 2pm or even later.

Short of it is, if I go on the clock in the morning or early afternoon, figure there will be a delay.

Probably, but I couldn’t swear to it. I especially couldn’t swear to them ALL going through.

No prob, Ellis.

I’m sure you guys were worried, but I’m back in town and ready to draft! Glad to see I haven’t kept anyone waiting.

In anyone wants to hear the story of one on the most absurd fantasy drafts ever, let me know…

I’ve received several trade offers for Cam, I responded to the best offer first. If that doesn’t work out, I will quickly respond with counter offers.

You have my go-ahead on either of the two offers I sent you.

If anyone is looking to trade down, I’ve got a surplus of WRs and a pair of higher-tier TEs that I’d be willing to part with.

Word of warning to anyone looking to trade future picks… after giving away my first and second rounders last year, I am feeling very anxious about this draft.

Sure, always up for such a story. And if the boards here keep deteriorating, maybe we can even top it!

Doubtful. Unless there’s mortal danger involved!

Cliff Notes version: My IRL league has been steadily escalating over the years and the draft parties have scaled up from being in a guy’s man cave… to renting out a room in a bar… to a all-day golf, trolley, bar, strip club event… to a weekend in NOLA… to a booze soaked weekend on a boat in Nash-vegas.

This year’s party in Nashville was chaos and debauchery (I think we have some problems…) and we had the brilliant idea to do the draft on a rented houseboat that we anchored in one of the party coves. So, picture 16 drunken fools on a house boat in 100 degree heat with a water slide, surrounded by partiers, jet skis, girls in and out of bikinis dancing to country and techno music trying to focus on a fantasy draft. Needless to say it wasn’t efficient. We used a big printed banner as a draft board and this little sticker sheets that have the players names on it. The guy making the 5th overall picked dropped the QBs A-F sheet in the lake just to set the tone.

We made it to the 5th round when the severe T-storm blew in. Big gust of wind scattered the sheets, almost took the draft board like a kite and blew the boat up onto the rocks where we promptly destroyed the prop. Then we eventually rounded up the clowns and motored at 1/4 speed across the lake to return the boat when the storm really set in. An hour later, we’re the only boat left on the water and the wind was blowing enough so we weren’t making any headway. Lightning flashing everywhere around us. Waves washing up over the deck of the boat. Things got pretty dicey.

Later when we got back to the hotel we managed to finish the draft in a hotel Suite. All in all, the actual draft was probably 11 hours start to finish. And, shockingly, I actually like my team! I got Brady in the 7th round!

That’s pretty much the best FF story ever.

Geez, I kind of expected that getting my pick in just before 8pm on a Sunday night would have opened the floodgates for a bunch of first round picks to come in. Last season I think we did the entire first round in the first day, compared to a measely two picks this year.

We may need to ease up on the trade negotiations if we want to get this draft done before opening day.

It’ll be fine. We’ll have one of those eight picks in a day stretches sooner or later.

LMK if that league needs any owners Omni …

I’m still entertaining offers for Cam, but I will go ahead and use my 1.3 pick. I take Teddy Bridgewater, QB

Pick 1.04 Terrance West RB Cle
Pick 1.05 Eric Ebron TE Det

RNATB is on the clock
