SDMB - Lazy posting is not welcome.

In a semi-recent thread some people pointed out to me that my posts in the months leading up to that thread had been lazy. Upon reading this I did not resent them for saying this because I knew they were right. I had, for various reasons become completely careless in my posting. One such reason was genuine lack of care. I was (and kind of still am) in a low point in my life and I’d just decided not to care about anything. Another (though lesser) reason was that I’d indulged in parts of the internet where people genuinely don’t seem to care about what they say or do. I won’t name those places but any internet-savvy doper will have a general idea what they are.

While considering the pointlessness and laziness of my sdmb posting I saw the truth that this style of posting has its place, and the place is most definitely not the SDMB. In order to be respected here your posts have to satisfy a certain quality requirement. This might seem like snobbery, but if being perceived a snob means a place like the SDMB can continue to exist then I am glad to be perceived a snob.

TLDR

Well fine, then. I’ll just go.*

*This is a joke.

ADHD? :stuck_out_tongue:

Praise Jesus and pass the blogsauce.

This

Meh.

Not to be an ass but, “Actions speak louder than words.” Don’t announce that you will start being more owning and loving of your own posts, just do it.

People will care more about your life decisions when they like you. Till then, it’s like the geeky kid who gets beat up every day during recess going up to the bullies and saying, “You know, you guys probably beat me up for a reason. I think I know why and I’m going to change. Yessiree.” The only reaction the kid is going to get from the bullies is apathy and/or another beating. He doesn’t gain anything in the announcing, just the doing.

The anonymity of the net tends to lead to schoolyard rules, even on the SDMB.

Like Sage Rat, not to be critical, but your post doesn’t have more content, it’s just longer. So you still haven’t changed anything yet. I still can’t tell if you have a point to your posts. A longer post without a point is still a pointless post.

When come back, bring content (and a point).

e: that probably wasn’t nice and this is MPSIMS
