Ordinarily I’d agree with you, but in this election, nothing is “just entertainment.” 
Most recently, like last week, it was Mike. Ron Jr. has been behind Hillary for a while.
It was Michael.
Pence winning on style right now. Kaine winning on substance–i.e., on message points that matter.
Question of who is winning depends on what matters in a VP debate: attack dog points (Kaine) or coming across as calm and reasonable (Pence).
Kaine says “bigly/big league.”

I haven’t watched the whole thing but I kinda, sorta agree to some extent. Kaine just looks uptight, like he’s got something to lose. Pence looks more at ease in this environment. Kaine’s better at stump speaking and cheer leading, and a lot better as a surrogate in TV interviews. But Pence looks a little more relaxed.
Is he kicking some Kaine ass? I doubt it. They’re trading punches.

This thing is a total clusterfuck. The conventional wisdom that VP debates are stupid seems to be holding.

Mike Pence is very good at looking insulted when Tim Kaine accurately quotes something Trump said. But I’m not sure that works with voters who have spent even 5 minutes following the election so far.

I don’t think Kaine’s getting waxed but Pence looks better. I could see some people thinking “Okay, Donald’s nuts, but this Pence guy will probably be the real president. So it’s good right?”
When they are actually speaking to each other and having a substantive argument, the dopey moderator interrupts them and changes the subject.
I really hope the 2nd POTUS debate isn’t a total waste of time like this one was. Terrible format, terrible officiating.
