SDMB Modern Diplomacy Game *players only please*

Hi all - I’m alive and well (for some values of well, at least) - thanks so much for being willing to hold play up for me.

I’ve corresponded with some of you already, and will be chatting to the rest shortly, so hopefully things will be a little smoother from here on in.

Grim

Glad to see you back, grim. Here’s your dagger. We’ve been keeping it safe for you.

Welcome back!

Fantastic that you’re back, grim.

I’m starting to get preliminary orders from folks, so don’t forget, just in case life gets in the way, turn in a set of orders well before our June 8th deadline so you have some wiggle room.

Incidentally, I will be on a boat 7 AM - 8:30 PM June 8th, so if you want your orders verified or a return receipt, get them in early.

Have a fast recovery, grim. Should we PM you for the time being? I got an out-of-office autoreply earlier today.

Just a reminder - orders are due tomorrow approx. 26.5 hours from this post. Anyone who needs their orders (or actually revisions, I’ve got orders from 9/10 of you already - you guys are fantastic! ) checked for illegal moves should get them in within the next 11 hours, since I will be out of touch for most of the day tomorrow.

Keep using the email that **wevets **provided - it is my work email, but I have access to it from home. If I haven’t responded, it is not that I didn’t get your mail, just that I’m ignoring it or trying to decide how to couch my response

wevets, I’d appreciate it if you’d put the map on Flickr.

for the record, I’m also a big fan of the flickr feed for maps.

In contrast I’d very much like an email that has text orders and maps in one. I don’t like having to dig through the thread to find the orders and then trying to track down the most recent map via a link.

Wow - fighting all over the place. Fat lady not even close to singing.

Please get retreat orders to me by 11 PM PST, June 9th (2 AM EST June 10, 9 AM SAST June 10)

Can you post the moves in the same format as you did for previous turns? It makes it a snap to copy/paste them into jDip.

Nevermind. It copy/pasted fine. I must have done something wrong. Thanks!

This is why I shouldn’t change moves at the last minute. You forget why you do things in the first place…

I actually made it into Madrid? I was just trying to cut support.

In a heavily-televised propaganda broadcast Egyptian Prime Minister Melón denounces an unprovoked massacre of noncombatants by Italian forces along the Tunisian-Libyan border. The Prime Minister’s call for an end to Italian colonization of Africa is met with celebration. The first draft lotteries are held in Alexandria.

We’ve had a request for a 24hr extension for the Winter builds. I’ll be in Yosemite Saturday night, so unable to post the results. Let’s make the Winter deadline Sunday night and the Spring 1997 deadline Tuesday - sound good/will that be enough time? Let me know if it isn’t.

Please get the Winter 1996 Builds to me by June 12th, 10 PM PST (1 AM EST on the 13th, 8 AM SAST on the 13th.)

Spring 1997 turn due by June 14th, 10 PM PST (1 AM EST on the 15th, 8 AM SAST on the 15th.)
