[Fat Tony]

I don’t mad, I get stabby.

[/Fat Tony]

Get get get get. I’m blinded with rage and thus unable to preview.

Hope that we met your needs.

How’s trieste? Was it like you remembered?

Ah, spring in my only maritime province… the smell of the sea as it crashes against the Dalmatian coast… the young blooms along the avenues… the happy couples sitting at small sidewalk cafes, eating pizza and sipping espresso… I guess the Italian invasion wasn’t a total loss. Now we just need to execute the missionaries.

missionaries?! can i have some??

will swop you for some Cossacks.

Ha! I knew you were going to do that with Berlin/Munich/Holland, Kaiser Royal!
I also knew that I couldn’t do diddly squat about it. Oh well.
Listen, while we’re chatting, doesn’t that wide-open Warsaw look inviting? G’wan, Russia will never miss it [sub]and it will get you out of my hair for a bit[/sub]
Sorry I’ve been a little out of touch this week folks - work and all that.

Jayla, I had left Ruhr alone in Fall '01 as a peace offering to you, you ingrate. Whyn’t you pick on England or something?

I love it when they air their dirty laundry in public like this.

Perhaps you are right. I have not read it in a while.

My reference is to a play Variations on the Death of Trotsky

Oh, and ShibbOleth, we are most definitely on speaking terms. In fact, I think we have something to discuss…

Don’t trust him man! he lies.

trust me instead

Um, it’s a little hard to move from Picardy to Ruhr in a single turn. You left it alone because it was in no danger from me.

I’m just surprised you didn’t get Kiel supporting in there as well.

Eh-up. I see the Germans are causing trouble in the west again.

Bloody westerners - not at all like us peaceful eastern folk.

Yes, and most of the trouble caused is for ourselves.

If’d you’d all please turn away while I :wally :wally :wally myself—ahh, that’s better. Thanks.

Its true. Oh how we laugh over here at your foreign western ways.

I didn’t examine the orders from 1901 so I’m looking solely at the S02 turn here.

Austria/Shibboleth: Back in Trieste but could be stretched a little thin along the eastern border. Russia isn’t threatening you, but if both your other neighbors do you could be in for a rough one. Crucial question: For how many more seasons can you trust Turkey?

England/Hugh Jass: Chances look good for you to land a second army on the Continent before the year is up. Russia should be a willing conspirator. Crucial question: When does a position become too strong?

France/JayLa: Playing an innocuous game so far, except for Mar-GOL. Don’t make it too easy for Italy to decide he’d be better served looking west than east. Relationship with England seems good, but what do you get out of it? Crucial question: Where are your centers coming from?

Germany/Royal Nonesuch: Beset from all sides. Making an early enemy of Russia may not have been wise. You need to get something together and it’ll take some Dipping. Crucial question: You need at least one active ally. Who will it be?

Italy/Soup_du_jour: Bit off a little more than you could chew there in Austria. Make friends with somebody that can help you against him, or make up with him fast. You’ll almost certainly have to disband a unit this Winter, and it looks like friends of yours are few and far between. Crucial question: For how many more seasons can Austria trust Turkey?

Russia/Tristan: Uh oh. No builds in 1901 and now this. Get your money in the ring in the North and make somebody give you a center. You need to get all your units involved. It’s not quite hopeless, but it’s close. Crucial question: Is anybody on your side?

Turkey/garius: A strong start, and you’re threatened by no one. That isn’t always as good of a place to be as it sounds. Keep Austria fat and happy and remember to downplay your accomplishments until it’s too late. Crucial question: For how many more seasons does Austria think he can trust you?
Power ranking:
T E F A G I R

The frontrunners
Turkey’s got 6 centers and no threats. Russia doesn’t have the manpower to defend the south and Austria’s looking the other way. Clearly the Power to beat midway through 1902.

England’s already established her ground force as well as her naval dominance. Tactically a superb position but there are questions to be answered at the bargaining table.

The rest
France has her 5 centers and looks safe. But where to go from here?

Austria is primed for conflict, but with who? None of her neighbors can be trusted.

Germany is besieged, but has more options open tactically and strategically than any other Power on the board.

The basement
Italy, through no fault of her own, should always be found here at this point in the game. This particular position is no exception, but going into 1903 without friends is ill-advised.

Russia’s got a lot of catching up to do. All is not lost if she can make her presence felt in the Scandinavian theatre, but losing a turn on that vital second fleet will be hard to overcome.

Enh. Looking at things this way doesn’t feel natural. Maybe it’ll get easier as the game goes on.

I don’t know, that doesn’t look like a ruthless assessment of Turkey to me.

Does anyone else get the impression that England is smiling and whistling a happy tune whilst he keeps France and Germany butting heads? Shrewd, very shrewd.

Wait a sec. My Crucial Question[sup]TM[/sup] doesn’t even have anything to do with me! What gives! Am I that transparent?

I am not free to comment about England at this time.

don’t try and be mysterious **Il Soupo[/ib] it doesn’t suit you
