What happens if you’ve already picked all the teams involved in a playoff week? Is it just tough luck or do the choices reset if the game extends past the regular season?
Yes, it was a reset at the start of the playoffs. Survival picks can still only be used once in the playoffs, so part of the strategy is leaving teams you think will run deep into the playoffs for later picks.
Everyone left survived this week, two picks on the Rams, two on the Patriots
Tough pick this week. The biggest favorite by far is Seattle but I don’t want to bet against San Francisco. Seattle just barely beat them in the regular season, though to be fair Seattle got some rest and home field, so maybe I’ll still pick them. All of these games look like they’re going to be tough and can go either way.
Another week where everyone survived.
I definitely don’t have a lot of options, though. I picked the Pats last week because I wanted to save the Seahawks for the conference championship, but the Patriots are likely to be the AFC representative in the superbowl now and since I’m picking Seattle in the conference championship game, if I survive this week I’ll only be able to pick Denver in the superbowl (unlikely they make it) or have no picks at all.
I guess everyone is in a similar boat. Everyone has used NE. If Denver loses, none of us will have any picks left to take in the SB. Because if we take the NFC team, we can’t pick them again in the superbowl. And we’ve all already used the Pats. So the only viable path forward is Seattle this week, Denver next week. (Or in Raza’s case, the Rams over Seattle)
So the league is still running, yahoo didn’t end it, but none of the three players that made it to the superbowl have New England or Seattle available to them, so everyone will have to get their final strike after the superbowl.
As such, the league is effectively over and three people made it all the way to the superbowl: Gloria Gaynor, Indiana Poidogs, and SenorBeef
