While we’re talking pools, I’ve emptied out the waiting list and I still have one, possibly two slots open up in the pool that I run. It seems that just about every year we have one Doper join in, so if anyone is interested in an insanely fun pool, come take a look.

You can pick the games up until 5 minutes before they start, so if you want you can pick only Thursday’s game now and do the rest later. But don’t forget to do Thursday’s game.
Make sure you get your survival picks this week in the next 3.5 hours, you need to pick them before the first game starts. You’ll have to pick Thursday night’s game too in the pick em leagues. Anyone still interested can sign up whenever.
I haven’t had time this year to organize the salary cap league that we ran last year, but if you make a team (look for salary cap football on fantasysports.yahoo.com) we may be able to be part of a league together later. You can play against the general public even if you’re not in a league.
You guys might also be interested in trying wagerline.com - it’s a virtual sports betting site where you competitively bet monopoly money on sports bets, but you could become recognized as one of the top bettors for various categories and IIRC there are real prizes even though it’s free.
If a few of us sign up for that, we may be able to form some sort of league later for that too.
Ok, the last bit of advertising I plan to do: the deadline for the prop bet contest is tonight at 7:00 Eastern.
God, football’s here in four hours. Dios mio, man. Dios mio.
You get more points in Confidence if you choose a higher number for the games you feel more confident about. (As opposed to ranking them, with 1 being most confident.)
I did a little math and figured out if I had done the first week right, I could have gotten 85 points. Still not great, but I’d be in 2nd place overall now.
And I suck against the spread.
