6 picked New England, and they’re out.
3 picked NYG and that came down to overtime.
2 picked BUF which was a one point game.

Stupid asinine system on CBS Sportsline where you have to have your pick in by Sunday at noon. So irritated at myself right now.
Yup, hanging in there (Vox Populi). Fortunately I changed my pick from the Pats on Friday after thinking “Self, why are you picking a team led by Matt Cassel?”
I’m starting to move away from the “save New England for a rainy day” type survival strategies. I generally try to find the worst team I feel confident in every week (like Arizona last week) figuring that while I’m picking Arizona type teams, people are using up their NE, NYG, etc. picks and when they’re in a bind, I can use my blue chip teams.
But the NFL changes so much that it may be wise just to use your good teams when you know they’re good, and cross the tougher bridges when you get to them.
Anyone playing Salary Cap football btw? I’m like 34th percentile this year, when last year I rocked 98th-99th. I was ranked something like 1300 out of 150,000 last year.
That’s more like it, much better week for me over last week’s horror.
Bumping this to remind everyone – Thursday night games begin this week, so don’t forget to get your pick in by this evening…

Yeah…Shhh! I don’t want anyone from my office reading that and remembering to set their picks for tonight. And while I’m on the topic…
Let me just say that it’s idiotic that I have to have all of my picks set by today at 7:15; it’s just another reason to hate the Thursday night games or be irritated by the guy running the pool.
I’m surprised how long it has been running with 3 guys. Then again there haven’t been many major upsets - I think that had I not gone out when I did, I’d probably still be alive. But still, congrats you bastards. Now go ahead and lose 
I had a really good week in the spread league - for the sunday daytime games I was 10/12. I made a bunch of bets too and almost had my best sports betting week every, except my Browns shit the bed again. I had a parlay bets that went 5/6, 4/5, and 3/4 because of that game… for a loss of a potential $800 or so. I still ended up ahead on the week because my other bets are good but that sucked.
I’ve often wondered just what the hell the NFL was thinking when they created the slate of Thursday night games (besides creating leverage for the NFL Network). It seems clear to me that football pools are one of the top driving forces behind the overall popularity of the game – why the hell would they do something that is going to have such a negative effect??
Pools could just ignore the Thursday night games if they wanted to.
So after 12 weeks we finally have our winners - a tie between Fear The Turtle and Shibb’s Unskilled Hacks.. Week 12 is a very good run.
I’ll be resetting the league so that everyone can play out the remaining weeks.
Since this thread has been bumped, I just wanted to take this opportunity to point out, once again, that I’m currently leading both the Spread and Confidence pick’em leagues. When I hold on and win both, it’s going to be quite a feat, and you should all expect to hear about often in the years to come.
