Thank you, BigT, this is a vast improvement over the “improvement”.
That’s actually intentional. The old button had the word “Quote” on it, and this was the simplest way to replicate that. I actually replaced the text: the old text said “Reply with Quote.”
The original emphasize the Quote button, and makes it clearly a Quote button. This new one is just a mirrored version of the Quick Reply button. I went back and forth on whether to include any text, and decided to do so.
Unfortunately, that headache thing is still an issue. But I’ll put this on my list of things to look into. I could actually design a button that has the word Quote in it, like the old one, or, if and when I make some options, I could add an option to turn it off.
So is this better after updating? I have a couple more changes I can throw in. Right now, the difference is that the current page number is bold, while the others aren’t. All are still gray, though.
I have an update that makes the current page number black and makes it even bolder*, because some people say they can’t clearly see the difference between bold and regular. Not sure if that’s overkill.
*On Chrome and Firefox, at least. I don’t know if the extra bolding technique I use will work on other browsers.
If you can change it so that the search time out is reduced to ten seconds, I will really be impressed. 
I suggest a background on the current page number. A clearly marked indicator instead of a subtle one is always better, though medium contrast maybe.

Interesting idea. I incorporated this into my other changes (see the quote and PM forward buttons) into version 0.6. I may tweak it further in the future.
The violent red new post indicator is an eyesore. The quick fix is to block this element in uBlock Origin:

Another person said they really liked it, so I’m not sure on that one. Maybe change the color but still have it be a color that stands out? I agree that it’s out of place.
May I offer a suggestion/request? On my Subscribed Threads page, the list of thread titles is in a considerably smaller font than other text on the site. This is a little rough on middle-aged eyes. Any way to adjust that to have the font size the same throughout?
