I know you guys are looking at it, but I’ll add my two cents’ worth anyways. From my understanding, the third-party hack is the one that allows sponsorship. If so, it seems you should be able to leave that one alone. Just give Charter Members the ability to re-up as regular Members. I’m pretty sure none of them would do it and lose their Charter Member status, but it should allow them to pick that option when sponsoring people.
I hope that made sense. I know you’ve probably already thought of this, but I figured I’d say it, just in case.
No. Still trying to qualify, Jack. I have a long hard road ahead of me with many doctors and testing yet to be done, I’m afraid.

Did you use PayPal echeck? If you use the echeck option there’s a lag of 3 to 5 business days or more before PayPal releases the funds to the Straight Dope and a subsequent lag in crediting you as well. This is a delay on the PayPal side (they make bux off the “float” while your money is in limbo) and we have no control over it.

Sorry to be stupid, but to check on my subscription I clicked on List Subscriptions and when it was empty I clicked on Paid Subscriptions, like the thread says. But what do I click on when Paid Subscriptions is empty?
Actually, what I am trying to fix is that I suddenly keep changing from Napier to User Name without the ability to post as I navigate around the board, on both of the computers through both of the ISP’s that I usually use. Something changed in SDMB, didn’t it? I clicked “Remember Me” a few minutes ago and now find I get this Reply box, and we’ll soon see if I can reply, but shouldn’t SDMB remember me from board to board and from thread to thread within one session, without the “Remember Me” option? I am at home now, but the other PC, at work, is supposed to be subject to a rule about no automatic logins, and I guess that is what the “Remember Me” option amounts to, right?

No. We had a bit of outside help for these things – that’s who put in this hack in the first place – he’s been sidelined with some serious medical issues. We’re waiting for him to get back to us. That’s all I know.
I just re-upped and the balance was deducted, but I’m still seeing ads (well I"m not really, I have Firefox, but the spot for them is still there). Bug?

No offense to our Dear Leader, but it seems to me that the search feature (which I try to check before posting redundant threads) “only” searches his columns, and not the boards. (Perhaps even this very question is redundant, but I don’t know how to search this forum…

Perhaps we need a 2010 version of this thread. An anonymous benefactor just re-upped me. Although I’m grateful for the gesture, my decison not to re-up myself was not due to penury. Thus, I feel I should pay for someone’s subscription who really does need it, but I don’t know how to go about that.
