So, as a charter member, if I didn’t re-subscribe, would I lose the “Charter Member” under my name?

My own question: I finally convinced my sister to register, and I wanted to gift her with a subscription so she doesn’t have to look at the ugly ads, plus just to support the community 'cause I that’s how I roll. Anyway, I followed the instructions on my UserCP “Subscriptions” area and added her username instead of my own to the little box, but the only option for payment was the $7.98 amount that I would be charged for my Charter Membership – not the $15 or whatever-it-is for regular members nowadays.
The payment went through, and if worse comes to worst I guess I’ll have added another year to my own subscription (which makes a total of three years this month! Y’all ain’t never getting rid of me!). But how do I give a subscription to someone else and pay the correct (higher) amount?
Just repeat the process once more and pay another $7.48 and I’ll upgrade her to Member.
A better way to do this (for Charter Members who want to gift Guests) in the future is to purchase a 2-year $14.95 subscription in the guest’s name (as you did above), and then PM an admin to upgrade the Guest’s account to Member.
Due to the way the gift subscription add-on works, it doesn’t allow automatic gifting across member types. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks, I upgraded kimbo to Member. She won’t be sent any notification, but she should notice it under her name when she posts (and the fact that she doesn’t see ads). She won’t know who paid for her unless you tell her, so feel free to tell her what a cool sis she has

Esprix, I learnt so much from your “Ask the Gay Guy” threads that I would be more than happy to pay for your resubscription, even though I’m not prepared to pay for my own. Especially if it prompts you to post more often.
(I think we share an in-real-life first name also, which can’t be a bad thing. This assumes I recall correctly a link you once posted.)

Something just occurred to me. I thought it odd that I was subbed up to 2012. Is it possible that that instead of double generosity from the member that just PM’d me, 2 people just contributed to my second favorite charity (me)

You are a Charter Member. The person who gifted you membership sees $14.95 instead of $7.48 (because the discount is not available to them), which when applied to your Charter Member subscription, gives you 2 years.

I am more than happy to pay and gift someone but paypal does not work for me. I’ve tried both hong kong and china international credit cards and get an error message. I tried from work, where we have a fat pipe and tt looks like I am in the US. No joy.

Got the email reminder and went to renew at $7.48 (Charter Member), but that option wasn’t available…just a year at $14.95 or two years at $29.90. What gives? Is the Charter Member rate really $7.48, or is there an error in the reminder?

I received the e-mail stating that my subscription as a Charter member should be renewed. If you check my profile, you’ll see that my subscription is paid up until 05-21-2011.
Should I do anything at this point?
