Wow, Opal. You are truley amazing. You do some great work on that site. I’d like to thank you for everything you do for our little community. Though very much appreciated, I think you’re all too underappreciated. (I’m not trying to win votes, I just think you do some great work.) Keep it up!
Couple of things…
I figure it will probably take about a week for the ballot to get really filled out, so please, nominate, nominate, nominate! You can nominate as many people as you want for each category! You can vote once a day.
Please check to see if the person you are nominating is already nominated in that category! I’ve already had to remove TWO duplicates!

Vote once a day?! Wow! Why do I get the feeling somebody like “NewtonsApple” is gonna get more votes than anybody for “Mr. Congeniality”?
Opal, I have a suggestion. I think it would be much more accurate if you had a week or two of nominations only, then close the nominations before voting.
I say this because I would hate to vote for someone, then see another nominee that I wish I had voted for…

Well, the ATMB categories don’t seem to accept nominations. The About Cecil’s Columns categories are all blank also, so I’m wondering if that’s happening there, too.

I know…it was slow at work for me, and now I can’t get on, period. I keep getting a “page not found” error, even when I reload. I got there ONCE today, so who knows what’s up. Opal? Any thoughts?

The pages take a long time to load because they are dynamic. Every time you load the page it is searching through a data file to created it (all the nominations) and writing the page on the fly. SOrry, but that was the only way to do it. The other way was to have everyone email me the nominations and have me update the voting pages 900 times a day, like I did last time. Not gonna happen.
A lot of people who have registered for profiles don’t have them yet because I’ve been very sick this month and on top of that, very busy as well, so in my free time slogging through a huge pile of email and setting up profiles hasn’t appealed to me.
That said, I’m considering just taking down the voting altogether because the pissy moderators don’t like that I announced it. They only want MPSIMS people to know about it, and what the fuck is the point of them if it’s only for MPSIMS people? God I’m sick of the administration of this site.

Wow! I’m glad I’m not the only one having trouble getting into the voting pages! I thought it was my connection. I was having problems earlier tonight where I couldn’t open any pages, but I was confused why now it only seemed to apply on Opal’s site.
I think I’ll wait till I get back to school and my DSL connection.

Opal, no offense, honey, I appreciate all of the work you do for the TM Homepage, but you know (ok, I know, maybe you disagree) that it wasn’t appropriate to post threads in every single forum about this. It really is a MPSIMS thing.
I would’ve gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for those meddling kids!

What good would taking down the voting thing do? It’s not like you’ll hurt the admins by doing so. The only one who’ll be hurt by it is you for your wasted efforts.
So you posted where you shouldn’t have and got talked to/yelled at/whatever for it. It’s done and that’s that. Good to know for next time.
