SDMB Xbox Live Gamertag

Last night, I saw someone in the SDMB group playing Rock Band. Who was that? (Man, we really need some kind of list of SDMB names -> XBL gamertags) I just picked up Rock Band yesterday at Wal-Mart (price drop, woohoo!), and was testing the controllers out for when the nephews come over tonight. I’m a total neophyte at rhythm games, but I’d still be willing to play sometime after I get some practice in.

I’ve certainly never played anything like it. Ours is a love/hate relationship.

I can’t see how it is possible to unlock all of the achievements/pinatas/variants without resorting to the cheat wiki (like I have) or devoting a notebook to systematically trying any and all combinations of environments, crops, and accessories from the very beginning of the game, which would take forever and a day. It takes forever even when you’re cheating.

I avoided the Journal for days and days because it was tedious to access (my other gripe with the general menu system) and the useful information it provides is burried and not intuitive to access, imho.

All that being said, I am not going to drop it until I have done anything and everything, and I have spent a looooooong time playing the game, which in my book makes it a great deal for my home entertainment dollar.

Me not know. Send a message asking who they are? After that, send invite. Then…???..
You may or may not know the last step.

I play Rock Band a lot but I wasn’t on XBL last night. Feel free to send me an invite if I’m playing it. My gamertag is Storm Ravynn.

My wife plays a lot too so if you don’t get an answer, just assume that it’s her. She’s not figured out how to work the console yet and doesn’t know how to answer messages.

Agreed on all counts. But when I was playing it, it ate my life.

Oh, I would so like to play Rock Band with the SDMB. I’m not terribly good at it, though. I haven’t played in a while either.

I’ll sign up next time I’m on (Monday). I’m lostlobster on XBLA. Mostly want to play GTA4.

Hopefully I remember. I’ll add you to the list then. You just accept it from me, then. If I forget (or drink a hot, steaming cup of fail) then just send me one.

I learned one early cheat, and it’s kinda spoiled the game for me. It was the “set fire to a Taffly, then put it out with the watering can, and it’ll turn into a nice expensive Reddhott you can sell for mucho dinero” trick. And since apparently Tafflys love me or something, I’m now pretty much buried in cash and can buy darn near anything I want. As a result, I lost interest. Maybe I’ll pick it up again sometime.

You’re officially added tonight.

The list is swelling slowly. Keep it up, peoples.

Sent you a request tonight. LostLobster.

I may get a 360 soon mostly for Rock Band. Is the online play any good? The latency would screw up perfect real-time feedback on the other people in your band, how does that work?

I might get some sports games, but I doubt I’ll be getting any shooters - the idea of playing them on consoles is kind of silly to me.

If the rock band online play is good, I’d be totally up for making an SDMB band.

There is apparently only one SDMBer with more Achievement Points than me.

Not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.

Accepted it last night.

Bah. Not playing Halo 3 isn’t an FPS existence I want any part of. Jump into it and open up your mind. FPS is very good on the console. I’m sure you may say that it’ll never be as good as keyboard/mouse, but it’s as good.

Sent a request. I currently don’t have a working mic, but that shouldn’t stop the fun from happening.

I have been lost in Assasin’s Creed for the past week or so, but will come up for air and Halo3 eventually.

Request sent today. Gamertag furlough.

Rock Band, Burnout Paradise and GTA IV are on my current rotation. Out of town until Sunday night but then nothing to do for a week!
