Just wanted to post to let the techs and such know that I was doing a search at about 8:35EST, and the search screen started flickering and clicking, as if I were clicking “search” over and over. It kept fluttering and clicking, then finally stopped on a screen that says you can only search 1 time every 30 seconds. Then IE crashed and I had to reboot.
Just FYI- I figured it would come up as some odd activity and I wanted to let you all know!
Ha ha ha! You have come across the secret Seizure Search function, which is sometimes used to induce epileptic fits in trolls who are using the Search function. Somehow, during the software change-over, your name must have been added to the “troll” list. I’ll contact Cheri and Haley at once.
Zette - that definitely sounds odd. I am going to chalk it up to your computer needing some extra lovin’ and assume it’s a one-time occurrence until I hear someone else mention it. I’ve used the board quite a bit with Internet Explorer and Netscape and have yet to see that behaviour.
I did significant trolling with the search function today, and did see the screen that says you can only search 1 time every 30 seconds on several occasions. Once it simply refused to search when I hit the button repeatedly, but I never got any strange flickery-crashy weirdness like Zette.
Thanks for the info- I assumed it was a one time thing, but I didn’t want any weird red flags coming up saying “Hey, Zette tried to do 30,000 searches in 10 seconds. Cracker? could be!”, know what I mean?
I did a few searches after that and all went fine. ::shrug::
