Season Long NFC North Discussion Thread

MM in my world is Mike McCarthy. I think the penalties and the inability to win late falls more on MM than on TT.

In the last 4 weeks? Rouse has been on the roster for a couple years now, and all of a sudden these things crop up? Hell it was just a few weeks ago TT decided Rouse was better than Anthony Smith, and now he’s cuttable? Magically? While keeping some street free agent who plays the same position?

4 weeks ago we had Rouse and Smith. Now a couple guys who no other team wanted are on the roster and they’re gone. Unless a couple of no names are better than Rouse and Smith, TT fucked up.

The fact they had to slide Colledge over to LT where he little to no reps and gave up 3 sacks, which was pretty instrumental in the Packers loss, is on TT. The weakness in our secondary depth is on TT. MM certainly needs to do something about the penalties (although there seem to be a bullseye on the Packers), poor playcalling, and inability to adapt well to what is going on on the field. And the players need to just stop making glaring mistakes. And staying healthy would be a HUGE help. But TT doesn’t get a pass.

I don’t mean to sound like I’m panicking. The Packers can, and will, pull this thing together. But it is a team that is ill equipped to deal with injuries and has problems on the O Line, as we learned last year. And not much has changed.

The Vikes are 3-0 now thanks to a beautiful pass by Brett Favre. We’ve won the games we “should have” won, and now begins the tough stretch of the schedule. I’ll be VERY happy if we go 3-2 over the next 5 games.

Congrats to the Lions and LOL @ the 'Skins. Glad it wasn’t us.

doffs cap to Lions

So, how many minutes until Jim Zorn gets fired?

Lions are 2 game back.

Easy, tiger.

They’re also 0 games out of last place.

Gotta start somewhere.

The NFC North was 4-0 today. When’s the last time that happened?

Well, it didn’t happen at all the last 19 weeks! :stuck_out_tongue:

November 2005. Ouch!

The Lions were edged out by the Chicago Bores today. Down to 1-3.

What a stupid game. The first half was solid, but the Lions just didn’t show up in the second half.

Is there a game tonight?

If this isn’t a whoosh, it’s not just a game, it’s THE game. Vikings vs. Packers.

I hate that such a meaningless game is getting more hype than the last Super Bowl did.

Yes, I said meaningless. Look me in the cyber-eye, Viking/Packer fans, and tell me you have a real shot at the Super Bowl.

I think that since that was posted in the NFC North thread it’s more than safe to say it’s a whoosh.

 <— Me looking you in the eye.

Both the Vikings and the Packers have a real shot at making the Super Bowl. If the Cards could make it last year, the Giants could beat the unbeaten Patriots the year before, and the Seahawks can throw the game away to the Steelers a couple years before that, the Packers and Vikings both have shots at the Super Bowl.

Happy?

Really? All non-Super Bowl deciding games are meaningless? Really?

Even so, would watching Norv Turner sleep through another game or watching Tony Romo shit the bed for the upteenth time be more compelling viewing?
