I’m in also. Can’t miss the return of the Canadians (plus their spousal units). My brain may be nougat by then, and I’ll be no help at all for the picture rounds, since I wrote them. or found them. Whatever.
Gawdamighty damn! Lady Cheek is out, as she’s not feeling well. As such, I’ll be going home first to grab the car. Which means I won’t be there until 7-7:30ish.
So inkysplotchy, if the return of the Canadian sans spousal unit’s okay, we’ll see you then…
You haven’t secretly disposed of Lady Cheek, have you? This isn’t some sort of insurance scam where we’ll get some song and dance about her being away on vacation, where she meets someone else…
I think he was probably cleaning out insulation, and he said to himself, “Y’know, I have all this attic space…”
Congrats to both doper teams, each of whom won cash money. And welcome back, E. Thorp and Aguecheek.
I see that trivia at the OP is cancelled tonight. Which is fine by me, because I was about to say that I’m sure as hell not leaving my home once I get there tonight.
See you all next week!
Sheeeit, I never left my home today.
Well, I forgot to bring my work files home last night, so I went in (I can work from home if I’m prepared). Didn’t leave until 11:15, and the roads were fine, as long as I took it slow-ish and wasn’t stupid. I’m about to head home now, though, hopefully beating the re-freeze.
The Irish Emigrant eh? Thats a two minute walk from my place of residence. Where are the Old Pequliar and Kate’s Pub? I do enjoy a bit of trivia…
Both Kate’s and The OP are on the 44 bus route. Kate’s is just a little west of I-5, in Wallingford (if you’re that close to the Emigrant, you might consider Kate’s walking distance). The OP is in Ballard. I’d post the addresses, but I’m lazy. Look at www.quiznight.net.
We’d love to see you at one of our outings. We enjoy meeting new dopers. Check this thread to find out what we’re planning, or to suggest a plan of your own.
Will the doper team appear at the OP tonight? Will two doper teams appear? I think I’ll stop by there this evening to find out.
Anyone else going to be there?
Not tonight, I’m afraid. Much as I’d like to medicate my hacking cough with a late night of trivia, beer, and fried food, doctor’s orders are otherwise. Hoping to be back in fighting form next week.
Have you got that nasty bug that’s been going around, too, or is this a different condition altogether? I got nipped with the nastiest, runniest, coughingest cold of some sort, and my husband is just coming off of his, but my co-workers have all been knocked flat on their asses by one helluva flu - hit much harder than me. Most of my customers, I’ve noticed, sound like they’ve got various sized frogs in their throats.
Naturally, due to this, I won’t even be able to make an attempt at trivia tonight; head cold aside, I’m picking up for my prostrate co-workers today, since I seem to be the healthiest of the bunch. Sniffle. Achoo. Cough.
I manage to see you guys, what, every six months? I’m overdue!
Anyway, stay healthy everyone.
My doctor calls it “a mild flu.” Just like a cold (stuffy & coughy), but for weeks instead of days. Lucky me. On the plus side, the nighttime knockout pills are pure bliss.
I’ll be there…probably. Depends on how much I need to work on my fencing, which us up to an old asian man coupled with my recessive catholic guilt gene.
I’m planning to be there, unless I fall asleep on the couch beforehand. I’m soooooo tired.
E. Thorp and Anastaseon, I hope you both feel better soon! Enjoy the good drugs…
I’m in. I’ve had a good couple of weeks and I need to have my spirit crushed.
Apologies for not getting in on this. Both Lady Cheek and I managed to catch one of the several types of colds going around right now.
Yes, we all got a fever also…a fever for VICTORY!!! (this is seperate from my personal fever for more cowbell)
I kind of expected a more satisying feeling after beating Husker Dont, but trivia is so impersonal, really. No forced handshake, no ultra focused feeling leading to elation.
Then again, we got money.
Which is nice, but I really miss that whole crushed-spirit feeling.
Maybe next week.
Oh, no, wait, next week, I crush your spirits.
February then.
