Seattle Pub Trivia '07: The Eye of the Tiger

Of course, for what was in the briefcase, you’ll have to pay…

Suddenly I’m imagining the back of Ving Rhames’ head…with a band-aid…

I bump out of habit, though I know that it will be only Saltire and I, and maybe one other (sad that I forgot her user name here…not coming to me. Bad sign for trivia.)

Sure, forget my username… that’ll really make me feel like trivia-ing…

I’m a maybe, at best – sleep might be more necessary than trivia tonight.

Aw, you can sleep when he goes off to college. I’ll be there tonight.

I will be tapping my toes to the antics of the Knights of the Round Table. Kick some ass, my droogs.

That was fun, although I’m sorry to report that the team of two did not kick much by way of ass. 21 teams!

Next week Naomi hosts. I’m willing to check it out again, but I know some people have strong opinions. I was going to suggest Clever Dunne’s, but the review on QuizNight mentions that their quiz can start at 9 and go to 1am – so I’ll pass.

G&D? Monday or some other day? The Fuckin’ As were considering Norm’s in Fremont, which is a Thursday quiz.

I guess it’s a good idea to bump the thread now, to see if we can find consensus on where (if anywhere) we’ll be playing this week.

I don’t have any strong feelings, myself. I’d be okay with giving she-who-has-annoyed-the-team another chance, but I’d also be happy to go somewhere else.

Quiznight.net is almost devoid of information on Norm’s Eatery & Ale House, but I suppose I could do Thursday, if y’all wanna.

I’m fighting a cold, so I’ll be staying home tonight. I could do any other night this week, though, as far as I can tell now…

My schedule’s up in the air. I might or might not be busy any night this week. So don’t wait for me; pick an evening and I’ll be there if I can.

If stargazer’s out tonight, then I won’t propose Mulleady’s tonight. Which is fine – that was a last-minute thought anyway.

Proposals for tomorrow:

Naomi at the Old Pequliar.
The George & Dragon. I’d be more interested in this if I knew it were going to be Cindy.
The Hopvine on Capitol Hill.

Wednesday:
Molly Maguire’s in Phinney, Conor Byrne in Ballard, or Kangaroo & Kiwi on Aurora.

Votes?

I’d vote no on G & D, but great on anything else. If we go to the Kangaroo and Kiwi and Lauren Jackson happens to be there, I will be distracted making googly eyes.

I’d vote (inasmuch as my vote counts for anything, as I’m not guaranteed to be available) for someplace we haven’t been yet. Be nice to expand our horizons a bit.

For example, we’ve done Kangaroo & Kiwi. It was, well, okay, I guess. Plus parking is a bigger bitch than Leona Helmsley. Even before her death. Anyway, point is, if the choice is between that and a new place, I vote new place.

I think I agree with Cervaise – I like the Hopvine, too, but parking there is even more awful than at the K&K.

So, I guess my vote is for either Conor Byrne or Molly Maguire.

Turns out I can’t do Wednesday this week.

That leaves us with a couple of options for Tuesday: the Old Pequliar, or Cooper’s Alehouse. All other Tuesday spots are either places we’ve been or places that don’t award cash prizes. I’m not thoroughly opposed to those, but I’d rather win money, because I’m mercenary.

Or we can bag it for this week and just plan on next week – David & Emily at the OP, or elsewhere.

Cooper’s Alehouse it is!

Or is it?

If there is a minority that wants to do the OP, I could go there also. If not, my coach will wear my legs down to nubs. And no one likes nubs.

Note: Cooper’s quiz starts at 8:45.

I can be there.

I am home from work today with a cold, but mostly just because I need some sleep. I think I will be feeling well enough to come tonight, but no promises. If I’m not there by 8:30, don’t expect me.

Hey, awesome, that’s like ten blocks from my house. I’m in!

I just called Cooper’s to confirm. Yes, they have a quiz tonight, and it starts at 8:45. They usually end by 10:30.

I’ll be there, but later than usual – 8:00 or so.

Note: apparently they’re not known for their food.
