Seattle Pub Trivia '07: The Eye of the Tiger

Brilliant!

Sure wish the Little Red Book had a section on contemporary playwrights. Or geography, for that matter.

It’s awfully quiet. Is it only going to be me and my life-sized cutout of Ryan Seacrest tonight? I have it on good authority that the QM is low on sleep and will imbibe whiskey. Hilarity will ensue.

I’m out this week – I hate having to miss the hilarity, but I have my stupid church council meeting tonight. After this, though, only 2 more meetings before I’m done!

See you all next week… (choose “knitting” for me if we come in 4th!)

I’ll be there. Hilarity sounds very welcome.

I’m torn between my need for extra sleep and my love of [del]sweet delicious beer[/del] trivia, but will probably be there.

I’ll be there with bells on.

So what’s the plan, my droogs? I’m up for tonight. With balls, even.

We’re in! We’re in!

Woo!

I’m out, unfortunately…but not because Aguecheek’s in. (Really!)

Wow, it’s always nice when new people show up…oh wait, you’re that couple that raises guinea pigs, aren’t you?

I’ll be there, just in time to sit around with a blank expression during the geography round. If I’m not going to make it, I’ll call me brudda, and he’ll tell you I’m not going to be there.

I’ll be there! No bells, though. No balls, either!

I’ll be there.

Can newbies join? My wife and I won’t necessarily be the best, but we’d love to meet new people.

(Um, and if I can join, how will I pick out you people?)

Sorry for the double-post (and the presumption that it’s OK if we tag along), but it’s at the Old Peliquar in Ballard, yeah? What time does it start (and when do people show up?)

I’m hosting the quiz tonight, so I can at the very least direct you to the table populated by the usual gang of SDMB misfits. Just let me know you’re looking – though by then it could be 7:45 or so.

And the quiz starts at 8:00 and usually ends sometime between 10:00 and 10:15. It is indeed at the Old Pequilar. People usually show up early-ish to get a table – 7, I think? I wouldn’t swear to that, because my seat is guaranteed.

Hope we see you there!

Newbies are more than welcome. We were all newbies once (except for Cervaise).

It is indeed the OP in Ballard, starts at 8:00, we usually have someone there around 7:00. I don’t know what time we’ll get there, but I’m wearing a short sleeve plaid shirt with a long white shirt underneath. Glasses. Goatee. Short brown hair. And I’m incredibly, fantastically good looking. Hell, we’re all good looking (except for Cervaise). My wife’s got red dyed hair with a bleached streak through it.

How’s that?

All right, mister, it is on.

Fun! My wife and I will be there between 7 and 8. I’ll look for you. I’m wearing a black shirt, kinda of a turtleneck (except it’s not a sweater). I… don’t remember what my wife is wearing. It was early when I dropped her off. I’ll look for you and ask the host if I can’t find you.

See you tonight!

Sorry I didn’t get to meet you – hope you had a good time.

Everyone: Given that you guys didn’t win, what’d you think of the quiz? (I think you guys should get to know the Fuckin’ As – they’ve got some of the pop culture knowledge that tends to be your Achilles’ heel.)

I liked it. It was just the right amount of hard and the questions were extremely interesting. There were a couple of times when we all looked at each other and said, “…Ooo, good question.” I think the best example was the “what was larger” question in the Geography round: the Sahara, Australia, the Amazon drainage basin, or the Roman Empire at its peak. Good debate on that one; we wound up guessing wrong but any of the four would have been plausible.

The movie round drove me frickin’ nuts, though. :stuck_out_tongue:
