Fuelled by the instant success of this thread, maybe this will be more of a challenge:

This may have been a Hallowe’en special - or maybe it was aired just once. It was a live actor/puppet thing. Set in wizard/magical times, castles and whatnot.

Our heroine knows who the baddie is but no one else does. The baddie is a witch. The witch curses our heroine so anything she says comes out scrambled and no one can understand her. Now the heroine can’t reveal the witch’s identity.

Our heroine tries anyways, exclaiming throughout, “Bake the ball in the candle of her brain!” We later learn what she was trying to say is “Break the ball in the handle of her cane.” The witch’s cane was the source of her powers. Breaking the ornamental glass ball on its handle rendered the witch powerless.

When someone figured it out (probably a Prince Charming) our lady heroine is finally able to speak straight and the witch gets her cumuppance.

Nevermind… found this one (duh, search “bake the ball…”)

It was The Frog Prince - another Jim Henson production.

“Sweetums smash!”
