Anyone remember this cartoon?

I have vague memories of watching a cartoon when I was little, about a woman who was a school teacher by day, witch by night. Her name was “Ms. Switch?” and she had a black cat named Sheba that talked. She looked like a brunette Samantha Stevens, and of course, during the day she wore the requisite Clark Kent spectacles so NO ONE could know she was really a good witch who helped children in danger.

Am I hallucinating this? It was one of those Hanna-Barbara type cartoons, I think.

Was it Mission: Magic? That was a Filmation project not Hanna-Barbara.

Ah - using Ms. Switch as a clue, and deducing that “Miss” was a more likely honorific for the time period produces: The Trouble with Miss Switch which was a 1980 Ruby-Spears production, not Hanna-Barbara, and based on a series of children’s books by Barbara Brooks Wallace.

I think that’s probably it. I didn’t know if it was HB or not, just that it had that same kind of look to it.

Sounds like the type of person my 7th grade classroom teacher was :dubious:

Good old Miss Switch. Haven’t thought about this in years! Here’s what I remember:

  • It was originally shown on ABC’s “Weekend Special” show on Saturday mornings.
  • She was a teacher, and there were two children (a boy and a girl) who knew her secret.
  • She could switch from a teacher to a witch.
  • As a witch, she could ride on a broomstick and she once used her magic to make the clock speed up so that the school day was over very quickly.
  • Her nemesis was an evil witch named Saturna (her sister? I can’t remember…)

The only parts of the episode I remember are Miss Switch using her magic and the little girl being in trouble and slowly fading away. I would love to see this show again!

The kids were Rupert and… Amelia?

Do you believe you believe in magic
Cause I believe I believe that I do
Yes I can see I believe that it’s magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine through

Of course the villain was the Compu-witch, a Univac sized computer with a pointy hat.

I’m beginning to think I am crazy too!!
I have a kittie who reminds me of “Sheba the cat” or Sheba the lioness.
Somehow, somewhere, there is Sheba the cat… she was very cool!
HELP PEASE!!

Man, I’ve almost forgotten what it was like pre-youtube.
