SEE the Grave of Ukulele Ike!

. . . Just thought y’all might be interested. Go “home” for a really cool site, which you might already know about, findagrave.

When my SisterRiddles lived in LA, her office overlooked the grave-yard that Marilyn Monroe (among others) is buried in. It was one of the more profound moments in my life, when I realised that surrounded by these plaques that read “beloved wife and mother” and “our baby, taken too soon,” Was a plaque with just her name on it, nothing more. And it wasn’t even her real name, a psuedomym.

Taught me that you can live your life surrounded by disposable people, but the ones that count are the ones that have flowers delivered to your grave for 25 years after you’re gone.

A little persistance goes a long way. Announcing:

“I go on guilt trips a couple of time a year. Mom books them for me.” A custom made Wally .sig!

Now I’m confused. Your gravestone says Ukulele Ike died in 1971, so how can he be a frequent poster to this board? (insert eerie music here)

Or how 'bout this? http://www.englishrosepress.com

This link will take you to a site where you can read a monthly newsletter from beyond the grave of Princess Di. There’s a couple excerpts from the book, too. And yet to come is a book of Chris Farley’s thoughts from the grave.

I think someone took the term “ghostwriting” a bit too literally.

Admit it, Eve, you wrote your entire April column on the Dogville shorts just so you could mention Ukulele Ike’s name in print.

Actually, Nemo, I am fighting with my Movieline editor because I mention “Floras McFlimsey” (my previous moniker) and “Ukulele Ike” in an upcoming column and she says “We can’t mention Ukulele Ike twice!” Right, like my readers have enough brain cells to remember a name from issue to issue . . . Might still have to change it—who wants a mention in Movieline?

Oh, how I wish I had given my user name more thought when I registered.

Well, there are several Winsor McCay collections out on video.

Before I draw nearer to that stone to which you point, answer me one question. Are these the shadows of the things that Will be, or are they the shadows of the things that May be, only?

Men’s courses will foreshadow certain ends, to which, if persevered in, they must lead. But if the courses be departed from, the ends will change. Say it is thus with what you show me!

Hear me! I am not the man I was. I will not be the man I must have been but for this intercourse. Why show me this, if I am past all hope? Assure me that I yet may change those shadows you have shown me, by an altered life!

I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach. Oh, tell me I may sponge away the writing on this stone!

Eve can’t reply to your post, Ike. She’d be breaking character.

Sorry about yesterday’s doublepost. Looks petulant, doesn’t it?

I posted the first one just as the board was having its Friday afternoon crash. I cringe to admit that I did not trust the ICP. And after going to all the trouble of locating the damn book and typing out four paragraphs of it, I wasn’t going to risk not having it show up.

Considering Ike’s response I’m afraid I’m going to haft to double check on this one here: http://dpsinfo.com/index.shtml
