This isn’t meant as some dumb joke. I really can’t get over the resemblance and every time I see DeSantis, my brain clicks on Shemp first. He can’t help his face, of course, but why does he style his hair the same? Am I the only one seeing this?
He has similar hair, but the style is different, right? Doesn’t Shemp have that pudding bowl haircut with bangs? I thought DeSantis brushed his hair to the side.
Aren’t you thinking of Moe? Shemp and DeSantis brush their hair back. Shemp parts more to the middle and DeSantis further to the side, now that I look them both up, but they’re still pretty similar. Way more similar than I’d choose, if it were me.
I’m probably wrong. I’m not all that big a stooges fan. I think I was picturing a combination of Moe and Shemp, though.
Thanks to you I can’t unsee this now.
As Shemp would say, “E- B- B- B- B”.
You’re quite welcome.
Uhm, I don’t think it’s the hair.
Damn, now I associate Shemp with that jerk!
Shemp was one of the original 3 stooges, pre-dating Curly. Shemp joined his brother Moe and actor Larry Fine to appear in the very first 3 Stooges movie “From Soup to Nuts” in 1930. He left the comedy team in 1932 and was replaced by his brother Curly. When Curly became ill in 1946 Shemp returned to his stooge role, initially planning to remain in it until Curly recovered. But Curly never did recover enough to return and eventually died.
DeSantis lacks Shemp’s gravitas and dignity.
Wow, NICE bit of Stooges framing there, Quadgop_the_Mercotan! And while we’re turning the Stooges into real people, let me just throw into the pile the fact that Larry Fine’s family had (has?) a car dealership and I had a used car they had originally sold. I was driving around with one of the Stooge’s names on my trunk lid.
But I also have to say how surprised I am that everybody else wasn’t already associating that hapless idiot with one of our finest comedians. I’m glad to have done the service, of course, I’m just surprised.
