Semi-gross question about bowl movement

Why, during a session of moving ones bowels do some “pieces” float while others sink to the bottom of the bowl?

Perhaps they’re products of two different meals? As for what foods or intestinal conditions lead to what fecal density, I have no idea.

Fecal matter containing more fat floats. It was not been in one’s bowels as long as kukai that has had time to have more aborbed or was something consumed with less or no fat.

I heard that “floaters” were the result of extra-fibery turds.

You can analyze some samples here.

I can’t believe I used my 400th post on THAT!

The above link contains graphic images, BTW. Open with caution.

I find that when I do the dishes with a full sink, I can get my bowls of different sizes to float just fine. Of course, if in moving my bowl I drop and break it, then the pieces do sink.

I hate it when someone moves my bowl! When I go to make myself some cereal, I want my bowl to be where I left it, dammit!

Odd as it is…I swear I think this is the reason I came to the Straight Dope in the first place. I was googling, got a link to a link, to a link…and wound up here. I’m almost positive it was.

What’s terrible is if someone moves your bowl as you’re moving your bowel. Why then, there’d be crap all over the place.

So, if I’ve got some brown trout which are floaters (High fat content) and some which are sinkers (low fat content), that tells me that I’m eating a balanced diet.

If they all float, then I’m eating too much fat. If they all sink, too much fiber.

Make sense?

maybe they want back in?

*I feel the bowl move under my seat
I feel brown trout rumbling down
I feel my bowel start to trembling
Whenever fat’s around

Ooh, baby, when I pee at your place
Yellow as the light of day
Oh, darling, I can’t stand it
When you point at me that way
I feel the bowl move under my seat
I feel trout fry tumbling down
I feel my farts start to trembling
Whenever stool’s around

Oh, poopie, when you’re in me
And you tenderly call my name
I know that my rectum
Is something I just can’t tame
I’ve just got to go, baby

I feel the bowl move under my seat
I feel trout fry tumbling down
I feel turd birth move under my feet
I feel brown fry rumbling down
I just lose control
Over the toilet bowl
I get pee and poop all over
I feel the birth move under my feet
I feel brown fry a tumbling down, a rumbling down, tumbling down… *

Like Peasea said, I would imagine it has to do with what you ate. As to what types of food float or sink, I’ll leave that to you to discover.

lieu, my darling, you know I love you more than anyone else on the boards love you.

But I have just concluded you need serious, serious help.

Ha, Fridays are a little slow.

OK…I put that to the tune of a woman singing:

“I feel the earth move under my feet, I feel the sky(?) tumbling down, tumbling down…”

Am I right?
I’ve no clue what the song name is though.

Spit, I know I have seen this article too, but I’ll be damned if I can find it in the archives.

Spit, it’s Carole King, from the Tapestry album. The song is “I Feel The Earth Move.”

I feel the earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down
I feel my heart start to trembling
Whenever you’re around
