Senator Boxer (D-CA) Lies and doesn't even admit it!

Great - now we can be treated to another 2 pages of what “essentially” means, and what “vanished” means.

Goddamn it, I’ve never had one of my threads go more than a page, and this piece of shit thread now has 100 posts. Unfuckingbelievable.

Perhaps you are constructing your thread topics with care and thoughtfulness as regards the empirical deliberation of a particular topic.

Go instead for knee-jerk reaction on some affectively laden topic. Around here, that’s the ticket!

This. Mammograms are not done in doctors’ offices anymore. At least not in Omaha where I am. I know this because my insurance company says they cover mammograms for only a regular co-pay, but only if it’s inpatient lab. If it’s outpatient lab, then the cost is 20% of my co-insurance. IOW, inpatient mammogram? Twenty-five bucks. Outpatient lab? Two hundred and twenty. Strong incentive for me to find out where in this major metropolitan area I can go to get an inpatient mammogram.

Turns out there are NO doctor’s offices in Omaha that provide mammograms in their office. All of them refer you to an outside lab (like a hospital lab). I guess, technically, that means that my gynecologist and internist do not provide mammograms. I’m not surprised that Planned Parenthood doesn’t have a mammography machine and a radiologist in their office. No one does.

Screw that. I went over and had a look at that thread. Now, I’m not even going to attempt to read an entire eight-page thread from scratch, but I was able and willing to scan Bricker’s posts. He has not “vanished,” in any meaningful sense. His posts in that thread are generally substantive and to the point, along with being adequately plentiful.

The accusation of “essentially vanished” is hereby deemed inapropos.

Just to reiterate, in a calmer but no less embarrassed tone of voice, that it’s difficult for me to imagine being much wronger than I was here. My initial concession was based on a discovery that made the statement technically true, but I harbored in the back of my mind a small sense of, “Well, 10%, OK, but still…”

But I’ve continued to research, and I now see the truth of the description above, and it’s utterly clear to me that PP does indeed provide mammograms in every sense of the word “provide.”

Again, sorry to have been a clueless ass on this claim. And I appreciate the ignorance fought.

Close, but not quite. More groveling. More cowbell.

Don’t start the fucking thread to begin with, Bricker. What an exercise in useless distraction.

This seems more like a mistake rather than a malicious lie. Why blow it out of proportion? I would be pissed if my side did this.

Oh…

Well played Brickster.

Honestly, I think this is a good idea. At the very least, when you hear about some politically-motivated Candid-Camera-style action, do some serious skeptical research BEFORE posting about it.

Lies! Oh, wait…unless that remark was not intended to be a factual statement.

<Monty Python>

…It was a pun.

(pause) A PUN?!?

No, no…not a pun…What’s that thing that spells the same backwards as forwards?

(Long pause) A palindrome…?

Yeah, that’s it!

</MP>

If ya change the “Number of Posts to Show Per Page” to 5 it’s 44 pages long!
I prefer 100, much less reading.

CMC fnord!

The part I bolded is the salient point, in my opinion. Hey, they’re poor, and many of them are black. It’s a two-fer.

As far as Bricker is concerned, I truly appreciate his mea culpa in this thread. No, it doesn’t excuse his hyperpartisanism, which has noticeably and markedly increased (yes, Bricker, it is true) over the last few years, but it is difficult for some to admit when they’re wrong, especially when it impacts or reflects upon an ideology they’re fully invested in and which they perceive as being under constant attack.

Based on reading thousands of Bricker’s posts, I believe he’s probably an excellent litigator in real life; I have been impressed a number of times with his rope-a-dope on these boards (no, that’s not a swipe), even when opposed to a position he takes, which is quite often. Lately, I wish his debating tactics were a little more honorable, and that he’d cut back a little on the word games, but I believe his evolution on the SDMB is a result of “his side” always being portrayed as evil incarnate, and Bricker, obviously not wanting to be cast in such a unappealing light, coming out swinging in defense, sometimes preemptively. I think this shows a bit of insecurity and victimism, but who among us hasn’t exhibited a little of this at some point?

I don’t expect Bricker to change who he is. Nor, do I believe he should have to. Bricker’s a conservative, and proudly so. It’s not his fault, nor his doing, that his side is mostly wrong…and evil. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m just curious if all the pro-life and right wing blogs are going to issue apologies now.

Your inability to read is startling. Try again, this time focusing on the “popping back up eventually to troll others for daring to have reasoned convictions”, and paying attention to the description of the inanity you have displayed in that thread.

If you like, I can focus more fully on your idiocies (i.e. patients-do-not-have-rights-like-those-of-other-protected-groups-because-Bricker-says-so), evasions and dishonesty, as exemplified by this:

I have cited numerous cases of patients denied prescriptions for emergency and routine contraception. Why you keep pretending otherwise is a mystery, unless lying has become habitual and you can’t help yourself. Anyone who wishes to delve further can enjoy the thread in question.

On occasion in the past you’ve had contributions of value in some threads. Lately however you seem to have lost it to the point that you seldom attempt to defend a position, but post predominantly to sneer at the supposed rhetorical deficiencies of your opponents. I realize how rough it is to hold minority right-wing viewpoints in a savage jungle of saber-toothed lefties, but if you’re largely reduced to trolling, why bother?

No problem. All the blogs can just say that their comments about Boxer were “not intended to be factual statements.”

And it’s all good.

They really, really don’t care what the truth is. Because they know that they are correct and holy.

But that would require him to be skeptical of both Catholic and Republican doctrine, as expressed via the blogs of fellow loyal and unquestioning adherents. And, of course, anyone who does employ such skepticism is either sadly ignorant or simply immoral. Until the facts get shoved in his face, that is, an action that many of us are tired of having to take again and again and again …

Ain’t gonna happen. He’s been through this routine enough times by now that any reasonable person would *learn *such skepticism about those doctrines and those sources. But he’s simply unable to. He lacks either the curiosity or the intellectual honesty to.

And it’s been enough times that another reasonable person would be skeptical of his professions of sincerity in recognizing he’s wrong. That’s just part of his game here, people. His stupid, wanking little game. When he gets tired of playing it, that line is just his way of shutting off any more well-deserved criticism for his starting it up once again.

BRICKER is changing who he is. He is becoming more and more Fox all the time. He is reaching deep into his sphincter to make comparisons of left and right. This was a particularly weak shot and a prime example of what he is becoming. Too bad.

Strongly concur. Bricker is a total piece of shit. And not the classy kind of shit either. He’s the scummy, dissembling kind.
