Maybe to avoid starting CPR, which is extremely violent and unpleasant for anyone with any remnant of consciousness, on people it won’t help?
Probably just because viewers are curious, honestly.

Except that’s just bullshit. US Senators are some of the most powerful people in the world. There’s only 100 of them, they serve a 6 year term, longer than the President and the representatives, and they practically have to molest a goat on live TV to not be routinely re-elected. If you can’t stand up to an idiot like Trump when you’re in the Senate, there’s something seriously wrong with you.
Aortic dissections must come in degrees of severity. We have a family friend, with Marfan’s, who somehow survived two of them. Seven years after the second one, he succumbed to the third one.
One of the police officers seriously injured on January 6th weighs in on the senator’s passing
The orange dipstick has recommended that Darline Graham Nordone be appointed to temporarily take his place. Once again he inserts himself into a matter that he has no fucking say in and the recommended person has no qualifications other than being Lindsey’s sister.
From the evidence, Graham’s not the only one with that serious malfunction. Just the biggest example.
That should be Graham’s epitaph.
Not at all, it can come if a wide range of presenting complaints and degrees of severity, sometimes known as ‘the great deceiver’ because of this. We recently did a case review at my hospital which included a walk in pt complaining of foot pain without any trauma history. Dr noted unequal pulses in the feet and did a CT which revealed a dissection that was salvageable (pain was probably ischemia). It’s true that with severe, classic symptoms, like the ones they probably discussed on the Today Show, you’ve got a short window, but it’s not pointless.
For example, high blood pressure is a risk factor and probably present when it starts to occur, getting that down can buy you a lot of time.

Ignorance fought, thanks.

And that’s who it will be.
Another excellent epitaph for Lindsey from the Mayor of Downington PA
Senator Lindsey Graham has passed away at 71. He served for decades, spoke with great confidence, and leaves behind a record that will ensure historians never lack material.
May his family find peace, and may the country learn from the choices he made.
Wow, that might be the classiest dis I’ve ever seen.
he was someone who managed the process for the leaders.
I vas chust following orders didn’t work 80 years ago and it’s not going to pass now.
As a hospital pharmacist, I was involved in the treatment of several cases of aortic dissection with varying outcomes. It depends on the degree of dissection, or in some cases the age and condition of the patient.
(I can tell you the following because I heard about it outside the hospital.) There was one woman in her 90s who attended my church, and she was admitted to the hospital with one of these. She asked the doctors if it could be repaired, and they said, “Yes, there’s an operation but you wouldn’t survive it.” “What if I go to St. Louis?” “You won’t survive it there, either.” So, she was kept comfortable in the hospital for several days until it blew, and she died quickly.
This woman, in her younger days, had been in a chorus line and later taught tap dancing. At 85 years of age, the church had a talent show which was mostly kids playing their band instruments, and you guessed it: she showed up in full regalia, with sequined top hat and cane, etc. and brought the house down. You just know that kept her healthy!

Here’s her qualification.
I asked several AI’s to “Find anything Darline Graham Nordone has ever said about Donald Trump.” And I am coming up with bupkis, with one partial exception today. From Politico:
I promise to work hard over the next several months to support the president and carry forward the efforts of my brother
Given the alternatives, the main qualification I am looking for is having some chance of not being an out and out Trumper. And she passes.
You might say that she will be just like her brother in terms of selling their soul. But Lindsey sold his soul, in my opinion, because of a desperate need to retain political office. With luck, she will not have that problem.
Giving her a chance, rather than declaring her the enemy based on hardly anything, is IMHO the wiser course.
Huh? She’s already declared she wants to support trump. That is the very definition of an enemy of the USA.
Re last post, what if she joins Murkowski in opposing the SAVE Act?
Coming from such a conservative state as South Carolina, that’s pretty unlikely. But given the alternatives, a South Carolina senator who has never praised Donald Trump by name is something.
I fear she will take office and be quickly shown lots of hate posts and mail coming from Democrats. If so, Democratic own goal.
Lindsay Graham was facing reelection in November.
His sister is just a place holder for a few months.

A special candidate filing period will open up on July 21 for Republicans interested in running for Graham’s seat, and will remain open for a week, according to state law and the state Republican Party. A primary would be held on August 11, with a runoff if no candidate reaches 50 percent of the vote on Aug. 25

This is what we in the South call a “bless your heart” tribute.

Not to mention the ridiculousness of handing over a major political office like it’s an old family heirloom. I’m glad you and your bro were close, lady, but you’re supposed to serve the people of SC (who did not choose you). Your desire “to honor him” has no place in the situation.
